We thought having a hand-vac would be useful for little messes, saving us from having to get the big vacuum out so often. Boy did we underestimate the utility of this thing. It is so powerful and so easy to use that we have gone from pulling out the big vacuum after each meal (we have four young children) to now only pulling it out for the normal weekly clean. This thing can pick up almost anything, even fairly large chunks of food including moist/wet items (the 22 month old is fond of throwing watermelon chunks on the floor at the moment, not a problem with this). We have a wood table with jagged groves it that used to be a pain to clean out, this easily sucks all of the crumbs / bits right out of them. I could go on and on but you get the idea. We love it so much I am on right now to buy one to give to my mother.Customer Review: Amazingly good hand vacuum!

This is the best designed consumer product I've purchased in many years. Can't believe how well this thing works, after buying lots of aggravating hand vacs.
Highly recommended!! For once somebody has "A" engineering students on a consumer product project, not just the space shuttle!!

I did a lot of research to replace my cheap/basic dustbuster from college. I was hesitant to spend the money on this dustbuster, but needed a replacement ASAP. I LOVE it! I have all hard floors and sweep daily. I can use the dustbuster for several days without having to charge it. The charge takes over a week to die after not being on the base. The slim design is awesome for cleaning in my car as it will fit between the seat and door. It is also powerful enough to clean up some dirt from carpet mats. It has different levels of power which could be really useful, however I havent had the need for the higher levels.Customer Review: Avoid this modal and get the newer style

I liked my vac but the rubber flap that prevents the dirt from staying in the vac once it is sucked up has broken off 2 of these vacs I had. Black and Decker has wonderful customer service and replaced these each time it happened. I bought the original 9 months ago and I am on vac #3. The 3rd vac has been restyled the the flap is no longer rubber but a pivoting plastic piece. The new style has lots of other better features. Get the new modal and save yourself a headache and lots of spilled dirt on your floors.
