I've had several rechargable trimmers before but the problem was always that they weren't very powerful and the batteries just wore out and stopped taking a charge. They also didn't run for long, even on a full charge. It's too early to tell if the battery longevity will be better on this more powerful model but runtime is much better and it IS more powerful. The hedge-dlipper is also a nice addition. I've got a lot of Asian Jasmine and the trimmer is great for finish work under bushes where it's hard to get a full-sized clipper. I have high hopes that this model will improve on the weaknesses of previous models.Customer Review: Excellent Electric Shears

For those giving this product only one star, realize these are primarily for trimming small shrubs and vine like plants. If you are looking for a grass shear, then you purchased the wrong product.Customer Review: FRUSTRATION when cutting grass!!!

I'm only rating this product for cutting grass since I never used the hedger yet. I get frustrated when cutting grass because I have to make about three or four passes over the grass before it cuts all of it. I used to have the Craftman brand cordless shears but the sears I've been to don't sell that one anymore. Another thing is that the motor is slow compared to the Craftsman model. It takes me about three times as long to do the same area as the Craftsman. The only thing better is that the battery lasts longer with the black & decker. I hope another company comes out with a comparable one to the Craftsman. FYI: I've cut St. Augustine grass and Zoysia with both of these models.

Outstanding product, - cut grass and shrubs wonderfully. Recommend getting the extension handle for added versatility. 7.2 volt engine is reasonably powerful for a small unit. The charge lasts for a long time, - seems to never run out between uses.
