Tools and Hardware Reviews of Bosch RA1181 Benchtop Router TableCustomer Review: Nice Table Summary: 5 Stars
This table is easy to operate and assemble, Fit my bosch router fine and very little needs to be done under the table for adjusting height etc. I'd highly recommend this table, especially for someone new to using router tables.
Customer Review: No one will give me an answer Summary: 2 Stars
When the package arrived I was not home, but I have a covered front porch. The box was in horrible shape, it looked like someone kicked it all over. I want to ask a question about the product b4 returning, but I can't seem to have that option. Another thing was the entire bottem of the box was opened, and with this being something you have to put together yourself, How do I know if all the peices are in the box without ripping the rest of the box apart. Since I bought it as a Xmas gift, Im not sure what to do. Anyone have a suggestion? Cause if I take the whole thing out of the box& something is missing, they won't allow me to return it.
Customer Review: Not Bad Summary: 3 Stars
This table is pretty good, but not a dream. It takes a few hours to put together and adjust it properly. My table is concave by about 1.5mm at center. Should be flat, but the router plate can be adjusted up and down, which makes it possible to compensate for this problem. Still, this is a new product, and should have been made better. Definitely disappointed with Bosch's quality control here. To be fair, I haven't contacted Bosch yet, but will do at the end of my current project. The precision in the fence adjustment is OK, but not great - fine for a beginner. The plastic legs seem a bit flimsy, but are holding up for now. I can see this table lasting 2-3 years if used moderately (weekend carpenter), but maybe breaking after that. The plate attached to my Hitachi router without any problem. I think the table will serve my purposes (non-pro, moderate use), and I'll likely keep it because I need a router table right now, but if it were easier to dissassemble and send back and I had another table for the current project, I'd probably return it because of the production flaws. If I could do it again, I'd buy a more expensive and better table.
Customer Review: Not Flat Summary: 2 Stars
As other reviewers have mentioned, the top on mine is far from flat. There is more than 1/16 inch valley in the middle - making accurate routing impossible. Unfortunately, i had mine more than a year before i noticed the problem ( i'm just an occasional woodworker), and now i'm stuck with it...
Customer Review: Not User Friendly Summary: 4 Stars
Getting this table properly configured for each work piece is harder than it has to be. The table has some nice features compared to others, but the feather board adjustment is a pain. The one on the fence has plastic shims that fall off when you slide the feather board off the fence. These should at least be captured rather than loose parts that fall on the floor and get lost in saw dust. Better yet, make the slot in the fence a standard miter slot that is flush with the face of the fence and eliminate the shims. It appears that there is a standard miter slot in the table surface but there is not (why I don't know). There are slotted holes in the table at fixed positions to engage the feather board which don't work well. The feather board is never exactly where you want it. A standard miter slot in the table surface would be a big improvement and allow the use of other features like a sliding miter gauge. Agree with other reviewers that the storage pocket on the side of the table is almost useless.
