Tool Review: not a professional's tool

I used this tool to replace the model 1295 which I wore out, and I am extremely disappointed with it. The dust collection is vastly improved but it is clumsier to hold and more importantly, lacks the power of its predecessor. It is possible to actually make the disc stop rotating by bearing down on it, stock removal is much slower and the sander has an annoying tendency to grab the wood and jerk sideways to the line of travel. This problem is less noticeable with the higher grits. Still, I bought this model because I was very satisfied with the 1295, and now I'm stuck with something I hate.
