I bought this sander for my husband for Christmas. He has just about given up on Craftsman tools. They are always breaking down and if under warranty they keep the tool for days.
He is a furniture finisher and uses a sander nearly daily. He is very very pleased with this one. Loves the dust collector has nice balance and easy to handle. Good speed. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.

Bosch ROS20VSK
At 2.2 Amps I would consider this a "finishing" sander. It doesn't have the grit of the other 3.0 Amp randm orbital I use. The 8' flexible cord is very nice. Th sealed power switch is sometimes difficult to engage. The variable speed function probably will never be used other than max position. The dust collection filter is the best I've used. The big down side is the cost of repair parts. Bearings can not be purchased separately, you have to replace the whole armature at half the cost of the sander. Brushes have to be purchased as an assembly rather than a set which doubles that cost. This unit comes with a one year warranty vs others out there of lesser cost that have a three year to a lifetime warranty. The bottom line is, I do not think this product is of good value because I can not justify the purchased price. Unfortunately, I did not research the "parts" situation until after the purchase.

I purchased this sander to replace another random orbit sander that made too much noise when new and has only gotten worse with a VERY annoying high pitch vibration sound as the sander was used. The Bosch is a pleasure to use. The variable speed is a great feature that allows matching cutting speed and the work. It is light weight and comfortable to use. It is slightly less powerful than the 3 Amp plus unit I replaced but it seems to do the same job...Customer Review: Excellent sander!

This is my first sander, so I did a lot of research first. Many of the sanders I've read about don't hold up and can be difficult to use. Not this Bosch. Nothing feels cheap on it and it performs great. The variable speed is very nice to have.
I would definitely buy this RO sander again, it's worth the money.
