I have had them before and it is a good product. BUT, Ordered a new Bosch in a box with shiny new everything. I received my package which was obviously opened. Got inside and it was USED. Sandpaper inclued was on the machine and was simply used. Dust throughout and nothing wrapped. Warranty card missing. Called the company and told them what happened. They told me they bought them new and were surprised. Please let them know if I have any problems. Couldn't answer why used. If I would have used the return I would have to pay return shipping. I am impressed with this sander and recommend it. I have not owned a RO sander before and put my trust in the reviews here. The reviews are all accurate. Vibration is low. Hand fatigue is low. The dust collector does an excellent job for short periods of sanding. (Remember to empty it when sanding for long periods.) At first I thought nothing was being sanded for lack of dust but the collector was full and imperfections in the maple board were perfectly smoothed.
I have tried a more expensive Makita which had more power. It removed material more quickly when coarse sanding but I prefer the all-around finishing properties of this Bosch. It's a good value.

I like Bosch but this was a dud. Ran into a intermittent switch or electrical problem (wouldn't always start)after two weeks of use. Thought I threw a breaker but it is the sander. I returned to Lowes and picked up a Dewalt D26453 5" VS. Bigger motor for $10.00 more. I like the Dewalt. Another issue, and this is funny (and no I am not a novice or a woman!), the sander "bag" attachment is a box, and the top snaps on and off. Works fine as long as your not unlucky (uncoordinated?) as I was. The "bag" top fits really snug, to my disappointment. First time I emptied the sander and pressed the top back on, using my hand over the top to snap the top on, the flesh of the palm of my hand near the thumb ended up in between the top and the "bag" i.e. box. Well, guess what, it takes two hands to remove the top and guess what one of my hands was doing? Feeling a whole lot of pain! LOL. Hurt like &*@#&@^ and had to get the top back off with one hand. I was ready to return it then, but used it for two more weeks until it broke and was glad to have a real excuse to return it.Customer Review: Not enough O's in Smooooth

Pro: This was my first random orbit sander. I was impressed with how quickly it removed material and smoothed the surface. It's compact design, light weight and relativily quiet operation are great features. Even though it's not mentioned in the "Product Description" it does have a dust proof switch.
Con: The dust collector though very effective, is quite small. For continuous operation I would suggest using the vacuum attachment.
The power cord is very stiff and retains the shape of being folded in the carrying case. This creates a trip issue because the cord does not lay flat on the floor.
I have a number of Bosch tools and have not been disappointed with any of them.

I like this sander. Its smooth, cuts well. Holds the dust down great. Comfortable fit to my hands. Quite. Varible speed is nice. Just disappointed about how it holds the paper. The sanding paper always wants to come off. Constantly slips off. Thats my only bug which is very important. I already sent a message to bosch about this. I hope they address it.
