This is a typical Bosch accessory - designed to fit and work in conjunction with the 4000 job site saw and compatible with the left side extension. Installation is a snap and the function is simple and reliable - the KIS principle. I suppose if you ran a full sheet of 3/4 plywood or a long 2x8 across it, there might be some minor flexing, but there are reasonable limits.
No surprises, except for the deplorable condition it was packed in and delivered by UPS. Becoming all too commonplace, and no excuse for it. I had to rate this 5 star product at a 4 because of the the way it arrived.

This item works well, is convenient, and is well made. This heavy duty item has only one fault, and that is the assembly instructions could be better as the assembly instruction is not precise, but if you are a tool junkie, you will not have a problem.Customer Review: Works as intended- should be standard equipment!

The rear extension works fine if you set it to the correct length of where your material will end up. Of course it is only a limited length, so cannot really help with 4x8 foot plywood, etc. But it is a great help for medium size work. very useful for ripping long boards, 4 stars because it could be longer and sturdier but it works well as it is.
