Customer Review: Don't Get If You Need A Spout

Yes, it's true that the spout on this can is atrocious. But, for my purposes the cans are mounted to my Jeep. I use a siphon hose to move the fuel into my vehicle. I also took the childproof transport cover and cut off the child-proofing feature, and took the can and pulled off (with pliers) the tab designed to engage with the cap's childproof feature (also serving double duty as a knuckle bruiser). A little red paint to touch up where I pulled the tab and these cans are fine. One small nit: The gasket in the transport cap doesn't want to stay in place very well. It swells--about doubling in size--when exposed to fuel and won't fit well into the cap after that (until it dries and shrinks back down to normal size, anyway).
Bottom line: I prefer the seamless bottom (actually, there's a seam in the center of the bottom) of these to the lip on the Blitz style cans. It's much less prone to rusting and leaking. The three star rating is because I should not have had to do any mod's to get a proper jerry can.
