Customer Review: Efficient inexpensive water filter (wish it came in a glass version versus plastic likely with BPA)

I bought this to leave on the counter for room temperature water and it works well for our needs. I have a Brita Pitcher for the refrigerator and I like that I can use the same size filter for both so I don't have to buy different filters for each. I'm using the water from this dispenser for baby formula which works well - I haven't experienced any leaking. I wish it held 2 gallons though so I don't have to refill so often. That size may be available, I just picked this up at a store without doing research beforehand. I will say that I wish it were glass and stainless steel versus plastic - the whole BPA dilemma - not a fan of plastic storage...Customer Review: Eh....

I purchased this product about 2 weeks ago in an effort to "Go Green" and eliminate my use of plastic water bottles. While this has done the trick, the downside is that the spigot began to leak within a couple of days. I returned it and now my second one is doing the same thing at a much faster rate. This is a wonderful product. There is no doubt about it.
It depends on your criteria. I did a lot of research about this and its competitive product from PUR. Please go look at the product in any store for its real size to make sure that this is what you really wants.
I like better tasted water coming out fast. PUR is supposed take little more clean water but slower.
I would strongly recommend this product if you really dont want to get a lot of water to be filtered througout the day.
Go for it.

Many of the negative reviews that claim mold problems are actually authored by the same person. After viewing some of his/her reviews of other prodcuts, I noticed another "mold" review for an unrelated product. I think it's safe to say that the reviewer has issues with mold, and that it's not a result of the brita filter.
We've been using this product for 8+ years with no problems whatsoever. Only drawback (other than price - they should give these away for the amount of $$ you'll spend for filters) is that it's heavy when full and awkward to fill.
I just purchased a second unit today to use in our weekend house. Definitely would recommend if you like brita products and are tired of refilling the pitcher constantly.
