Tools and Hardware Reviews of Brita 42622 On Tap Filtration System, White/ChromeCustomer Review: Caveat Emptor! Summary: 1 Stars
The design of this product is very poor if you need to use it on a faucet with inside threads. That was the case with mine and it fell of within miutes of installation. Even when it stays on you can't really touch it without it falling off. FWIW, I've remodeled and installed several bathrooms and kitchens - I'm very familiar with plumbing. I went over everything carefully when I installed it and even tried alternate washers to see if they might get a little extra more room for the threads to engage. The bottom line is that the insert is under-sized for the load the filter and water pressure put on it. They should have made the insert longer and probably out of brass or something more substantial than the plastic they used. Britta should be ashamed of putting their name on this product. Don't waste your time with this if you sink threads are on the inside of the faucet. I don't know about using it with externally threaded faucets but I would look for a better overall engineered unit.
Customer Review: Cheap, but you can do better. Summary: 2 Stars
My problem with this unit is after the first filter the LED lights no longer work. Is there a battery? If yes, how do I change it? Does it hurt this filter if you run hot water through it? Easy to do by mistake, but no answer I can find. Everyone is worried about chemicals and lead, but that's kids stuff. Bacteria will make you sick! For the price they charge for these filters you will save in the long run AND get better purification with an under sink unit. I have no idea. I am going on to a under sink filter. Cheaper in the long run AND they filter bacteria.
Customer Review: Clean and great filter. Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this filter because i got tired to buy water bottles all the time.
And I must say that the water tastes great with the filter.
Nice that I don't have to worry about buying water bottles anymore.
Customer Review: Convenience on tap Summary: 4 Stars
This is the third time I've replaced the Brita faucet filter. They last about a year - the length of the guarantee. It makes all the difference in the taste of city water (which I can't stand to drink otherwise). I will continue to use these as they're so convenient and easy to attach. A green light lets you know it's working and turns red when it's time to replace the filter so you know you're covered. It filters out cysts, much of the chlorine and bacteria, etc. Good little filter for a low price.
Customer Review: DO YOURSELF A FAVOR...CALL BRITA IMMEDIATELY AND ASK FOR METAL CONNECTORS Summary: 1 Stars
If you buy this, save yourself potential headache and IMMEDIATELY call the Brita 800 # and ask for metal connectors. I haven't had success keeping the connection tight without the metal ones. The cheap plastic connectors included in the original package are almost guaranteed to fail. Brita must know this...I wish they would fix this problem and just include the metal ones standard.
