Tools and Hardware Reviews of Brita On Tap Replacement Filters, 2-Pack, Chrome, for Models FF-100 & OPFF-100 (42618)Customer Review: Good filter Summary: 5 Stars
Filter works well. Lasts about 6 months. Retail price is high. Water tastes much better. Healthier.
Customer Review: Great for eliminating others and bad taste. Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great product, I have been using it for around 1 year, and has improved the water quality almost to be as good as bottle water.
Customer Review: Great tasting water! Summary: 5 Stars
Ordered a Brita FF-100 along with two replacement filters a few days ago, and received it today. I installed it within 10 minutes, and had the water flowing thru the filter for the 5 minute conditioning. Afterwards, the filtered water tasted GREAT...as good as or better than the Aquafina water we've been buying lately. Our normal tap water has a metallic/chlorine taste, and is just horrible. With the amount of money we've been dropping on 24 packs of the 16oz Aquafina bottles, I figured it would be a good idea to see if the Brita filter could transform our tap water into a suitable substitute. It sure did! Definitely recommended.
Customer Review: John's Brita Review Summary: 4 Stars
Does not leak like the competition. Filters are inconsistant in how long they last. Satisfied with them.
Customer Review: Much better than PUR Summary: 4 Stars
I went through 3 or 4 of the PUR faucet mount filters. They gave great results while they worked - but they clogged up very quickly, and invariably, the mount cracked within 6 months. They honor the 5 year warranty, but who wants to go to the trouble and expense of shipping it back to the factory every 6 months, and then waiting several weeks for the replacement.
I switched to Brita about 2 years ago, and have been happy. I've been through probably 8 replacement filters and it still works.
Compared to PUR:
PROS
Mount more durable
Filters don't clog before reaching their capacity for filtration
Much easier to change filters than PUR (PUR often jammed and took a lot of effort to screw the cap on and off). The just pop on, pop off.
CONS
The water taste is not quite as good as PUR, and based on the published stats, they don't filter quite as much as the PUR filters - but on both counts Brita is very close.
Much happier with Brita than PUR. I don't know how PUR manages to stay in business - the quality is just so awful.
