Tools and Hardware Reviews of Brita WPRF-100 Refrigerator Replacement FilterCustomer Review: Brita Water Refrigerator Replacement Filters Summary: 5 Stars
These brita water filters work great in our refrigerator. They are much cheaper than the refrigerator brand and work just as well. Will continue to buy these.
Customer Review: Decent alternative to Kenmore Filters Summary: 4 Stars
We tried this Brita filter for our Kenmore refrigerator as an alternative to the standard Kenmore/Whirlpool filter replacements.
It is a bit cheaper, but we noticed that the taste was a little less than desirable for the first few days (after letting the required amount of water go through the filter initially for waste). However, the taste improved after several days.
Customer Review: Did not fit our Kenmore refrigerator! Summary: 1 Stars
We purchased this replacement filter for our Kenmore side by side refrigerator that takes a 9010 replacement filter. We woke up the next morning to a kitchen floor full of water! It looks almost exactly the same as the PUR filter but the design is slightly different, and it leaks! We put the old filter back in and no leaks (so it wasn't the fault of the refrigerator). We won't be buying Brita again.
Customer Review: Do not order this if you really want a Brita filter - they might send you something else Summary: 1 Stars
I ordered this because my wife can really tell the difference if I have the wrong filter in there. Instead of sending me the Brita, they sent me a Whirlpool 4396508 filter, which is NOT what I wanted.
When I complained, I received this email:
We only sell the aftermarket, made by Whirlpool, of this part. We do reference this before you place the order:
$27.99 + $4.99shipping New
However, if you wish to return it for a refund, please use the RMA below:
Funny, I thought that the Brita filter WAS the aftermarket item. In order to return it, I have to pay shipping. They USED to sell the Brita filter, because I have purchased one from them before. In any case, if they don't sell the item then perhaps they should be more clear about the fact that they only sell the aftermarket version of the aftermarket item that you think you are ordering.
Customer Review: Don't Buy Into Brita Name... Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this filter as a cheaper alternative to the "brand" name filter for my Whirlpool refrigerator. I purchased it in January, and replaced in with the "brand" name filter in March. I honestly didn't think it would make a difference, but it did. The water tasted awful with the Brita, almost worse than from the tap. It had a strong chlorine taste. I finally decided to replace the filter, thinking that it may not make a difference (that something was wrong with my refrigerator), but it was an instant fix. Buying the Brita filter over the Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool filter only saved a few dollars, and definitely wasn't worth it.
