I actually bought one of these from Sears... I was looking for the OEM replacement but they actually carried the Brita brand too. Since they were the same price I went for the Brita. It's been about a month now and it seems fine. Water is crystal clear and tastes good. Same for the ice. I definitely recommend this filter.Customer Review: Great product, good price

It's a water filter. It fits my Kenmore 50259000. Without it, our water tastes and smells terrible. With it, my wife will actually use our ice cubes -- mind you, this has never happened before. I only give it 4 stars instead of 5 because it runs a bit slower than my Pur on-tap model used to. Might not be the filter's fault, though. Anyway, thanks, Brita!Customer Review: Just Not The Same

Installed just like the original. OK for the first month or so. Then the water started to taste "slimy". Fix the problem by installing an original from sears.
