Customer Review: A Stud Finder that Actually Works Well

There's nothing fancy about this product, but it is simply awesome. It's not much more than 2 super strong magnets embedded in a plastic case, but it works great and is well worth the small price.
This product quickly finds screws and nails in studs, hence identifying the location of the stud.
The magnets are strong enough to hold the stud finder on the wall. It works on the ceiling too, but the weight of the second magnet over powers the attractive force of the one that's sticking to the screw in the ceiling.
You could just purchase magnets and use those, but good luck keeping track of those. The housing makes the magnets easy to find and also eliminates the hazard that rare earth magnets pose for small children.
I honestly doubt I'll ever use my electronic stud finder again. I find electronic stud finders to be way too frustrating. All I use now is my magnetic stud finder and a plumb bob.

So I have a cheaper electronic stud finder that I've been using for awhile and decided to try this out... What the heck, it's only 10 bucks, right? After trying it out around the house, I found this finder will work good for smaller projects, hanging pictures, ect. The slight problem I see by using this finder is that you're relying on the person who put that screw or nail in has got it centered in the stud. For applications where strength can be more of an issue (such as hanging a TV), I have more peace of mind using an electronic finder to find the edges of the stud. I see myself using this to hang a quick picture, but for anything heavy, I'll stick with the electronic finders.Customer Review: A must buy

First off I want to say that the photos make this tool look huge. It's tiny and it works perfect. No more lining my walls with nail holes when trying hang a heavy item like a TV on the wall. I have aluminum studs so its not as easy to do the hollow hammer tap on the sheet-rock to see where the stud is. It all sounds the same because the aluminum studs are hollow but since I have this stud finder now its no problem.
I recommend this stud finder to anyone and for the price you really can't beat it. Great tool!!!!
