I have a drawer with several battery operated stud detectors, yet none of them work as well as this simple little tool. You slide it over the wall feeling for the grab of the magnets against screws or nails holding the drywall to studs, and you're good to go. The small level lets you line up the finder so you can see where it runs in the wall. The level also can be rotated in cases where you're working with horizontal vs. vertical studs. It's small, relatively cheap, and accurate, great for a tool box or apron.Customer Review: Better Than all of the other Fancy Technology

I've had the electronic stud finders lights, bells, and whistles, but this is the best little device ever made for hunting studs. I bought a cheap electric stud finder which was a huge pain. You have to hold it very steady and slide it smoothly otherwise it throws an error. Since most walls have some texture it can be hard. It said to put cardboard down over the wall to help it slide better but it didn't help. It was a very frustrating experience.
So I saw this stud finder and it has been amazing. You just do a little s-ing snake like movement and the strong magnet gets drawn to the stud nails and it just hangs there. The magnetism makes it very easy to find the stud cause it is drawn to it.

I always drill into walls (being a college student i move a lot) and I always missed because of crap things. This thing is basically a super magnet, it latches onto nails on the studs. This sounds kind of stupid but it works amazingly well. You could throw this thing on the wall and it will latch onto the metal nails (it is very very strong). It blew my mind. I found every stud in less then 2 seconds. I 100% love this purchase.
