Desired its use as a surveying aid, but discovered that you cannot pinpoint the laser in bright sunlight, thus found it to be totally ineffective for this purpose, much ot my great regret.Customer Review: Consider this usability flaw if you are a perfectionist like me.

The product works as advertised. It is inexpensive and easy to operate and it is very accurate but seriously product designers, would it have killed you to make the sides squared off? The bottom surface and surface opposite the laser side are relatively flat but when the product is placed on either of the narrow sides it aims at an angle. What is the point if it is accurate to 1/8" over 100' if you have to level it with your eyes? If you are off by a few degrees that makes the accuracy more in the neighborhood 2". Call me picky, but I put "perfectionist" in the title for a reason. It would be a five star product if it were brick shaped but the little frilly curves and angles easily knock it down to two for me.Customer Review: Daylight viewing

During a bright sunny day, the laser is virtually impossible to see at any great distances. It can be overcome by measuring smaller distances and adding them together.
Aside from this con, the tool is easy to use, very accurate and a real time saver when measuring long distances.

I decided to change my old Zircon Sonic Mesaurer by this product. The result, I got a defective one, which measures always a beatiful "255 " error code. I wrote an e-mail to CST/Amazon for refund o change, and got no answer after 5 days..
The small catalog ( I think it deserves a better one for a US 99 cost product!) says only "use a target plate", no more comments, no more suggestions..
In summary: I'm still using my old yellow ZIRCON, I have a defective device with small display size characters, I paid US 160 for cost+ freight+ taxes and I don't know what to do. Nobody to claim! To send back costs as much as the shipping , and I have no guarantee from CST they are going to ship it back pre-paid---
Customer Review: EXCELLENT DEVICE, IMPROVED ACCURACY

I'm very satisfied with this product, the accuracy is inmejorable. I use it to make measurement of buildings to draw cadastre lay-outs.
I put 4 stars instead of 5 because the device have a shape problem when one try to make an orthogonal angle over the wall (it have a curve shape in the back) that sometimes difficult the measurement.
However, I recommend this product for its price and quality.
