The parts kit arrived on time and included adequate instructions to complete the repair. It took a few hours but no major problems. Found that there was a flanged bronze bushing at the end of the motor shaft that had disintegrated allowing the shaft to shift more than it should. It took me 25 minutes start to finish. Well written instructions, rapid delivery, all in all I couldn't have asked for more. The kit includes extra parts for a couple variation of designs but this is not confusing. They are in separate little bags.
The instructions are good.
One important timesaving point: when you put the sprocket back on you will affix the couling with 3 screws. It appears this can ( and will ) go on in any orientation. BUT make sure you put in on in the orientation so the slots in the couling will allow the plastic cover to be snapped in place and cover the chain and sprocket. If you orient it wrong you will not be able to snap it in place and have to back track a few steps and turns some screws. No biggy.

By using this kit to replace the gear in my garage door opener, I was able to get my garage door working without having to call a repair man. The kit comes with instructions that step you through the process of disassembling the opener and installing the new parts. The only negative is that I couldn't just buy the single part I needed. However, compared to the cost of having someone come and fix my opener, this saved me a ton of money. Also, be aware that you will need to buy a punch in order to remove and install the new gears. Again, however, the cost is negligible compared to the alternative.Customer Review: Fixed!

I ordered the Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Kit to fix my 14 year old Craftsman opener from ASPDoors and a Whole Lot More. The project took about an hour partially due to the clarity of the enclosed instructions. Now it works as good as new. I was going to just replace the opener, but I am glad that I decided to fix it instead. This saved me about $150 dollars!
