They did say 2" display. I just didn't think much about it. Should have.
I rated it 5 stars 'cause it's everything they said. It's not their fault the BIG display causes a distraction if it's near the "line of sight" to a TV, window, whatever.
I had it on a shelf, about 4 feet above the tv. I moved it..the clock. The blinking light draws your eye to the movement as does the very large display.
Be great in the sleeping area since your eyes are usually closed. And, if half groggy you'd have no problem seeing the time.
But, consider the placement of this clock. I didn't get it for the sleep area but will use it there and get another clock for the Mantle. One not quite so large, blinky and bright.
This clock has nice features and I do not regret my purchase. Taking into consideration it's placement, I could recommend this clock for purchase.

I purchased this clock because I didn't need a clock radio. I like the large display and It does not make you jump out of bed when it goes off. The only down side is that it came preset with the time. It's one minute off the real time, that is, the time on my cable box and my satelite watch. It annoys me a bit because the time can't be adjusted. But it works great and was a good price. So I guess I will put up with it.Customer Review: Chaney Instruments Thor Large Display Alarm Clock

I bought this clock for my aging father in July '10. It worked well and he could see it until today....it went blank, nothing on the display. I replaced the 4 batteries even though I had it plugged into the electrical outlet and still nothing. I would have thought it would have lasted longer than 4 months. I love this clock with it's so easily read numerals. It can be seen so clearly in the dark, and from quite a distance. I bought it to replace another like it (different brand) which quit working after many years. I knew when that one stopped I had to have another as quickly as it could be delivered. If you have trouble seeing, and even if you don't, this is the clock for you if you want to see the time from a distance. Thank you Amazon for getting it here so quickly even with the free shipping.
