Why use it only for a microwave? I have it set up as an extension to my kitchen counter and store all of me cook books on it. The top doubles as an additional work space when needed but usually I have my book stand perched on it.
Update the look by replacing the plastic casters with some metal ones from the hardware store.
A great functional purchase.

I just finished putting together this microwave cart with no trouble at all. At first when I secured the lower shelf in place, I too thought it was a bit flimsey, but after attaching the upper shelf, I took my hammer and just tapped the shelves down some for a tighter fit. This seemed to secure everything and then I fastened in the (4) screws that secure the wood top. I am using it for small appliances, my bread machine and kitchenaid mixer. It is just working out great...and what a good price.Customer Review: ALways check target first!

I bought this cart for $65 at a department store. I couldn't believe it when I saw it here for [much less]. Mine doesn't even have the spoon/utensil rack!! Other than that, I'm really happy with this cart. I'm in a small apartment with very little counter space. We ran out of counterspace and were looking for a microwave cart when we found this one at Target. It was such a good price we decided to give it a try, and we were not disappointed. We put it together in about 15 minutes. We reversed one of the shelves so that there is a lip to keep things from falling off, but other than that we followed the directions exactly. It is plenty sturdy to hold our average-sized microwave. We are using the bottom rack for cookbooks and the hooks for potholders. The chrome shelves don't appear to be super strong, but they do hold the cookbooks without a problem. We especially like this cart, because it is pretty small and can fit in a tight area of our kitchen. We find it to be well worth what we paid.
