I liked the idea of getting one of these closet organizers because every piece of hardware, every bracket, every screw would be included, and there would be no extra trips to the hardware store because you didn't get the right equipment, or you forgot a piece...that always seems to happen to me. It arrived quickly, everything in order. To install, you should have a stud-finder (unless you're one of those super cool people who can find a stud by knocking on the wall), and a 1/4 inch drill bit. My husband had some frustrations, but overall it wasn't too bad. I do really like all the options you have to arrange your closet, and you can store a lot of stuff with this system. One thing I would like to note: I don't know how it could fit in a 5-foot closet. I figured the two top brackets would slide into each other for smaller areas, but it didn't. It fit in our closet, but that's just something to think about.Customer Review: Great value and flexibility and very sturdy

I happened to find this item on sale one day, right as myself and my husband were trying to work out how to redo our closet without spending hundreds, if not over a thousand dollars, and it was around half price, $50-something a set! So we got two sets, and then went to HD and added extra pieces here and there to make sure we made use of every inch of space. (The pieces from HD that we purchased individually were way more than these, as is usually the case with combo deals versus individual items.) This set is fabulous: easy to put up, the only hard part is trying to make sure the upright rods are straight, oh and filling the holes left behind by the old shelves neatly! The flexibility is great, and good for resale, since fixed closet systems might not fit the needs and wants of every potential home buyer. It might not look as glamorous as the wooden sets, but we've already moved quite a few shelves around, and it doesn't collect dust (or should I say, the dust isn't as obvious!) in the same way as with flat wooden shelves. We are very happy with the product and our handiwork and would definitely recommend it. Now we just need to get around to re-purposing the old shelves in the garage!Customer Review: Missing Parts

i would have to say that i am disappointed in this product, as it was supposed to include 2 2' shelves, and 2 3' shelves. normally not a big deal, until i tried to obtain the missing parts. i called the 1800 number on the box, and spoke to someone who said that i had to send in a letter saying what was wrong, and email it to their address, which is 'closetmaid@gmail.com' i was wondering why they didn't use their closetmail.com address, but i went with it. she also mentioned that someone would get back to me in 1-2 days.
i sent the email in, and then waited, and waited some more. i sent a follow up email, but never got an answer back. i went to the closetmaid.com website, and called in to them, and they said that they do not sell their stuff through amazon, which i thought was weird.
eventually, i sent an email to amazon about this order, and they were very cooperative and nice. they actually sent a new product overnight. this is great, however, except for the fact that the new shipment also was missing the 2 shelves.
regardless, i finally got my shelves, and returned the original product. i would definitely not recommend this item.

This product is a revelation! I remember my father having his closet organized years ago. It was very expensive, and the result, while well-crafted and attractive, contained absolutely no flexibility whatsoever. The system I've just installed (I used two, to cover a fifteen foot closet), not only has effectively doubled my closet capacity, organized my clothing into easily identified sections, and made the post-laundry hang up process a breeze; its components will allow me to alter the configuration no matter how much my wardrobe changes...and all at a fraction of the cost of a professionally installed system.Customer Review: Poor customer service

We bought about 1200.00 worth of closetmaid products which came to about 16 boxes. In about half of those boxes items were missing. Among the missing were bags of hardware which made it impossible to put it together. All the time our closets were emptied of their contents and spread around the house. We called customer service and were told to go back to the store and ask them to open other boxes and take the missing parts from them, of course they would not do this. We were then told that it would take 5 to 10 days to ship the parts. This type of treatment is unacceptable but they seem not to care. An e-mail was also sent in complaint but no response was received
