Tools and Hardware Reviews of Cobra Products 400 Zip-It Drain Cleaning ToolCustomer Review: Easy To Use Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first review ever. I stumbled across this tool when looking up reviews on the "as seen on tv" turbo snake. I seen so many negative reviews about that one and so many positive reviews about this one. This was such an easy tool to use. You just push it down the drain and pull it back up. My bathroom sink was really slow at draining, I stuck this down there and pulled up quite a bit of hair. I figured while I was at it and I wish I would have took video of it was my bathtub drain. I never thought I had any drain flow problems with it until I used this nifty tool. I put it down the drain and I swear I pulled up what looked about as long as a full grown cats tail and as big around as one too. I did it about three more times and got so much hair out. I would definately recommend this product to anyone that is looking to clear out there drain. I would like to also mention that I had previously used a full bottle of drano on the bathroom sink with it not helping at all.
Customer Review: Environmentally Friendly? Summary: 1 Stars
How can it be enviornmentally friendly if you have to dispose of it after one use? And it is pretty short. Needs to be longer.
Customer Review: Fantastic item & it's made in the USA!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the money saving twelve pack and intend on giving a few to family members that live in an older home.
The Zip-It is simple to use & fixed our very slow, bathroom sink drain. We plunged the sink about once a month. Previously, we tried a chemical drain cleaner; it took a long time to get the drain clear so we decided to plunge instead...that is, until I read an article about Zip-It. Figuring it might be the answer to our problem, I bought the 12 pack.
First, you're instructed to use eye protection. Inserting the Zip-It into the bathroom drain was a little difficult because the drain is divided into 4 small sections. I resisted the urge to grab it closer to the drain and give it a push. You don't want to touch the working portion because of the sharp points that pull out the gunk. I eventually got it all the way down the drain, but couldn't twist it like one poster suggested. I moved it around the drain a bit, then slowly pulled it out. I got a massive amount of gunk which was mostly hair. Then I used it in the tub drain and got a glob of hair out of it, too. I was on a roll and used it in the kitchen sink..got nothing there. By the way, have a plastic bag or newspapers, even old magazines or catalogs handy. This thing will be messy when you take it out of the drain. The Zip-It is disposable, you're instructed to throw it away after one use.
Zip-It is made in the USA...and that makes it even better!!
Customer Review: Functional, but challenging. Summary: 4 Stars
The product works, but it is a challenge to use. The problem I have is that my sink "stopper" is not removable. So, I have to work around it when I'm trying to unplug the drain. The Zip-It has a tendency to catch on any edges, making the process tedious and time-consuming. But, it does what it's supposed to, and it keeps me from having to dump caustic fluids down my drain. I like it.
Customer Review: Gets all the hair Summary: 5 Stars
I LOVE this product. It works so well. I just had a baby and my hair is falling out like crazy...normal from what I hear. So, I really needed something that would work and this definitely does. It's a little gross taking of the hair. I wish there was an easier way to get the hair off the ridges, which can be a bit difficult. But, that's nothing compared to the greatness of the product.
