Customer Review: A Real Steel Clothing Rack

If you are a first time buyer or someone like me, who watched their clothing rack slowly lean and then fall over right in front of my eyes, this is the last stop for you. This is the real deal. I didn't know it was the real thing just by looking at the picture or by almost all of the great reviews on it. It seemed like it was well made. In the product description it says, "It's the same classic, salesperson's garment rack that has been used with confidence by professional salespeople for decades". I thought it's to bad I never paid any attention to garment racks before because if I had I'd know what they were talking about.
I went ahead and bought one. They don't cost much. It gets delivered to me and I'm thinking I'll have to read some assembly instructions written by someone who speaks english as a distant language. As I pull the rack out of the box I realize I won't be needing any assembly instructions because it's already assembled! (well almost, except for the top part you hang your clothes on). So it took me about two minutes to swing the left and right upright bars into place and then grab the top part and push it down into the position I want it in and then 'Snapped' it in place.
As you look at it you realize this is made out of steel. All the steel is joined together by perfect welds and anything that isn't welded is securely fastened by heavy duty nuts and bolts, i.e. the 4" ball bearing casters. Be aware that there are four plastic (heavy duty) parts. They are placed over the steel tubing that slightly protrudes past each 4" ball bearing caster so that when you move the rack (with ease) and accidentally bump into something the small white plastic "bumper" will tap it instead of 1" O.D. chrome steel tubing. When you look at this rack you realize you have no buyers remorse. It looks and feels like it's going to last for a hundred years. Before putting any clothes on it you have a sense that this rack is not going to lean or fall over during those hundred years. You can even pull out the left and right top tubing about a foot more on each side for that extra room that I know I need. I've had this thing loaded with clothes for over a year and it's as solid and versatile as the day I took it out of the box and realized I didn't have to put something together for once.
Do I like the clothing rack?, I think so. Do I recommend this clothing rack to people who don't know anything about clothing racks but hope they make the right decision the first time or the people who have experienced, as I have, the ahhh and no mystery of plastic and metal clothing racks crumbling before their very eyes, YES!!!

This item is 150% percent better than the crappy plastic portable closets that I use to buy, and I have went through quite a lot of them, I wish I would have found this clothing rack sooner I would have saved myself the money and the headache. Sturdy, no assembly required, even the wheels are already attached. There are no instructions, but you simply pull up the side bars and insert the top bar. The clips in the red bag are to be screwed onto the bottom bar and are used for clipping in the top bar when the rack is collapsed. Ours is in the laundry room for spare jackets, just finished laundry, etc. Very useful and much better than any discount store purchase (we broke the last two - would've saved money and a headache just buying this one first!)Customer Review: AWESOME clothing rack

Like Douglas below...I've had many clothing racks from local big box stores just crumble, bend, fall over, before my eyes. Because we are tight on closet space...and because I'm a female with too many clothes...I use racks in the attic to store my clothes for the different seasons. The last straw with my cheap clothing racks...was hearing them fall over in the attic...and knowing I had a HUGE mess to fix up there.
This rack is sturdy, made out of steel...and there is no doubt in my mind that it will last forever. It's already loaded up with my summer stuff...and I'll likely purchase another in a few months. I will never ever spend another dime on the cheap versions. This rack is a very reasonable price for a lifetime of use. Highly recommend this and will recommend to anyone who asks me about mine.

We live in an old house with hardly any closet space, and so I rely rather heavily on a garment rack. I cant even begin to add up the money spent on so called quality racks from any number of stores. If I can offer any words of wisdom, don't bother with any of them because I have tried them all and none were able to withstand a even half a wardrobe of clothes without a)totally collapsing or b)leaning so heavily to one side that i was afraid to go near it.
I was disillusioned and being that money is tight, I was determined not to buy another one and became quite creative with duct tape and 5lb hand weights (handy for securing an unsteady base). Not pretty but I did manage to keep what I had in a sort of upright position.. Still, a girl needs to dream, and so occasionally I would check out the expensive commercial garment racks, which is how i found this one.
All those positive reviews and for less than $100! Thank you to those AMAZON shoppers who provide thoughtful reviews that give me confidence in a purchase or make me think twice.
Ok, specifics.. I consider myself to be a reasonably competent and educated woman, but when it comes to assembling things my brain ties itself in knots, so when the package arrived without any directions I did panic just a little. Guess what though?? I didnt need them . It arrived in a single box and other than tightening up a few screws there was no assembly involved. Just pull up on the hanging rail to adjust height, and youre ready to go... also easily collapsible for storage. What a lifesaver!! ...and i think it might even be real metal :)
