Tools and Hardware Reviews of Conair GS7RXF Compact Upright 1200-Watt Fabric SteamerCustomer Review: I own it Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this, because I hate ironing, its so much trouble, and I can never seem to get all the wrinkles out. This works great. It gets very hot though (the steam)so you have to be careful where you place your hands. It also starts to leak water so you have to hold it straight and let the water run back down the tube to the receptacle. Overall Ive been happy with this.
Customer Review: Not for perfectionist minds Summary: 4 Stars
The steamer works great just as a product like this should work, it does not have any fancy extras, but at the end it does what it has to do.
First RTFM, the usage and assembly is very simply but you will find really useful the tips in the manual both for steaming as for maintenance.
As same as it happens with a coffeemaker, the inside tubes will calcified, but is not a big deal, nothing that cannot be fixed by a combination of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water (do this as needed or at least once a month it all depends on the quality of the water being used).
The unit does not blows steam, it just flows slowly from the unit; so you'll have to move the head in circles slowly on your garment from bottom to top (otherwise you will BURN your hands, it is steam it is supposed to be HOT), also it works better against a flat surface like the wall, any way the pole that it comes with to hang your clothes is not long enough and remember that you cannot low the head of the steamer too much or you will BURN yourself, because of the condensated water that will come out, remember that you are supposed to hold the hose in a vertical position so the condensated water will return to the receptacle.
And last but not least be mediocre, don't even think about getting a 100% free wrinkle piece get to an 80% wrinkles free and leave it there, if you want 100% buy an iron and start developing your ironing skills.
Customer Review: Pretty Good Summary: 5 Stars
I've had this for about 2 months now and i have to say that i love it. Does the work i need it to do.
Pros:
Cheap
Fast the heat up
Decent in steaming and gets out all minor and most major wrinkles completely
Pretty powerful- i've steamed some very thick fabrics with it and seen the steam go all the way through
Cons:
Plastic
Cheap so i'm not sure how long it will last
Can spit water ( but rarely in my experiance )
Hose is a bit short.
All in all i use it everyday and its an awesome purchase for someone who hates ironing, wants to look good but is on a budget
Customer Review: This is the bomb! Summary: 5 Stars
I HATE ironing. I'd rather wear wrinkled clothing than iron anything!! This clothing steamer is one of my favorite things to use! So easy, very lightweight and compact. Rolls right into my closet. It heats up and starts producing steam almost immediately. I mostly use it for clothes, but works great on curtains! I love this thing. I'll probably never own an iron!
Customer Review: Very Pleased Summary: 5 Stars
I have found this machine to be of great use. I do a great deal of sewing and this steamer has been wonderful. Granted it is mostly plastic parts, I have yet to find that to be a problem. The steam is ready in a matter of seconds, and with a full tank, you can steam for at least 45 min.
Care does need to be taken, because steam is hot and it will burn, but that is the nature any steam machine you purchase.
Good little machine for the money.
