I purchased one in 1975, and still have it! The quality is just as good, or better.
The step stool pulls out on this one, which makes it much easier to handle. I ordered two, and I am thinking I may order 2 more to use for all of my grandchildren, for bar stools. Cleans easy and we love the color (red)!

During the summer and fall, I can vegetables quite a bit and need to stay near the stove while they are being processed. The stool is comfortable for me to sit on and high enough so that I can watch what's on the stove.Customer Review: Great litte step stool

I was a bit skeptical before I ordered this stool but I figured since the price was reasonable, I'd go for it.
My kitchen counters are not at a comfortable height so when I'm preparing foods for any length of time, often my back aches...this stool was the answer. Now I can sit comfortably with no problems.
Putting the stool together was reasonably easy, although, some of the screw holes were a bit rough, making it difficult to get the screw threads started, but once this was accomplished, the rest was okay, (although, it took me a bit over an hour to assemble it.)
It does resemble the stool my mother had in her kitchen many moons ago, however, if I recall correctly, hers' wasn't padded, instead it had a painted seat and back.
I'd recommend this stool, I haven't seen anything else that even comes close, especially for the price.

We bought this because I can remember my grandmother having one in her kitchen that me and my sister used to fight over. Now my son and daughter fight over this one. I guess we'll have to buy another. It works great and my 3 year old drags it to the sink to wash his hands. We are very pleased with our purchase.
