Customer Review: Dissapointed with Purchase
Summary: 2 Stars

I was really excited about the price of this item, but not with the product. The lines will not stay tight and sag. I like the convenience of drying my clothes in the fresh air and it saves on energy. I will definitely still use the clothes dryer, but I wish that there was a way to tighten the lines better.

Customer Review: Don't buy!
Summary: 1 Stars

Broke the very first time I used it! Though I hung my laundry evenly on all sides this thing bent over like a cooked spaghetti when it got a little bit windy. The metal ripped apart! No good quality!!!

Customer Review: Don't waste your money! Poor product.

This is my first review after being an Amazon customer over 15 years. I prefer to sit back and enjoy reading the reviews from others on products, and I usually "listen" to what people have to say. When I see negative reviews, I try to keep an open mind that maybe a negative review could mean the occasional lemon or two. However, I've had three -- yes, three! -- experiences with this exact same product and each one did not last past the first day of use. I would really like to try to help someone avoid dealing with the hassles of this clothes dryer.

1. Experience #1 - I bought this item from Amazon. I was so excited to start using the product that I'll admit the first catastrophe was my fault. Unfortunately, my hubby is not very quick at getting some things done, and rather than wait for him to dig the hole and cement the post holder into place underground, I opened the unit and used my heavy patio umbrella to hold up the dryer on my deck. Well, you can guess what happened. A slightly-more-than-gentle wind came up, and while I was watching, the wind caught the clothes in a nice billow and the unit completely fell over on my deck. There weren't many clothes on the dryer, and it wasn't too hard of a crash; however, when I picked it up, the aluminum arms were completely bent. When I tried to straighten them, they broke off completely. Very soft aluminum.

2. Experience #2 - I contacted Leigh Group directly regarding Experience #1. I spoke to a very nice person there, and believe it or not, they sent a completely new unit to me -- no shipping changes and no return required. I thought, hey, at least this company stands behind its product. Remember what I told you about my hubby? That dryer sat in my garage FOR A WHOLE YEAR -- still in its wrapping -- until hubby finally got around to digging that post hole. Then it came time to open it for the first time. I kid you not, the darn thing wasn't even OPEN all the way and the black plastic hinges ACTUALLY cracked then completely disengaged! What to do? We've had the dryer for a whole year, unused. I didn't even want to contact the company at that point. Just dump the thing.

3. Experience #3 - Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment. I figured third time's the charm, right? Maybe sitting in a garage for a whole year somehow deteriorated the plastic hinges. So when I went to Home Depot and I saw the product for a little over $30, I took a chance...and lost...again... I just came from outside, and I'm furious. I opened the item from its packaging, placed the umbrella in the hole, and proceeded to GENTLY open the umbrella. CRACK!!!! Two hinges are unusable.

Please don't waste your money on this product!!! It looks like Lehigh Group doesn't even support it anymore. I went to their website ([...]), and cannot find it anywhere . Buyer beware!

Customer Review: Dryer for clothes using the sun
Summary: 4 Stars

I like the dryer. It is well made and holds lots of clothes. My only complaint with it is that the pole doesn't turn, so you have to walk around the pole to hang the clothes, instead of spinning the dryer. I just move my basket of clothes to be hanged around the pole. I really like air drying my clothes in the sun. They come out so fresh smelling and the stains fade.

Customer Review: Easy to Assemble and Use
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this "clothes dryer" to us on our back deck from time to time to reduce energy costs from the use of our electric dryer. I was please with both the quality and easy assembly. Not to sound too much like an suburban "redneck" but the easiest way we found to use it was to removed the umbrella from center of of the table on our desk and simply place the shaft of the dryer in to whole. Hey! It works and can be inserted and removed quickly without fear of the wind blowing it over. It easily turns to take advantage of sun on wind for drying. We have used it about six months in all types of weather conditions. Heat, high winds, rain, snow and ice. We have place heavy clothing items on it and the cords have held up well. Because of the aluminum construction there is no rust to harm garments. A good choice. I'm please and more importantly so is my wife.
