Tools and Hardware Reviews of Croscill Fabric Shower Curtain Liner, White

Customer Review: Beautiful fabric liner!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am very pleased with the quality of this fabric shower curtain liner. It looks nice and dries fast. No more plastic curtain sticking to my skin! I've had it for a couples months and there is no mold growth. I love it so much that I bought another one to have when this one finally wears out. Also, with all this talk about plastic/vinyl liners leaching cancerous toxins/fumes I figured it was time to get a fabric one. You could actually use this as a stand alone curtain - it looks that nice! VERY PLEASED!!! Plus, no more toxic fumes!!

Customer Review: Cheap and nasty
Summary: 3 Stars

Arrived today and fabric quality appears okay but no lead beads in bottom as described so not weighted. Holes in top not even so doesn't match up with shower curtain. We have a high end bed and breakfast Inn so in the end I actually decided not to use it because of perceived quality and reviews here. In future will stick with the old adage of you get what you pay for.....

Customer Review: Comparing Croscill and InterDesign curtains
Summary: 4 Stars

We have an old bearclaw bathtub so we need two shower curtains, one for each side of the tub. We bought one Croscill Fabric Shower Curtain/Liner, and one InterDesign Fabric Waterproof Shower Curtain. They are both 100% polyester, but could not be more different. Croscill is probably twice as thick, actually feels like fabric, and has metal grommets for the shower curtain hooks. InterDesign feels almost like it's vinyl, not fabric. It feels very thin, and has reinforced seams for the holes for shower hooks. It's not waterproof - the outside face is damp to the touch after we shower, whereas the Croscill one is moderately dry.

Both of them are fabric, so a bit of moisture does get through. But, the amount of seepage not enough to get anything else wet unless it's actually touching the fabric. The seepage is notably greater for the InterDesign version but not a concern for us because the curtain is not touching anything. We have very low-flow shower heads, so it may be worse for others.

We've only had them for a week, so I can't yet rate their effectiveness at resisting mold, ability to withstand washing, or rust around the grommets (for the Croscill). Hence, I have given it 4 stars pending those tests. But, so far if I were to buy these over, I would buy two Croscills.

Customer Review: Croscill fabric shower curtain - excellent!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been using mine since October 2008. I hadn't written a review, but recently a guest who used the shower and liked the curtain asked where I'd bought it, so I checked the updated feedback. The recent negative opinions surprised me.

I bought it to use as a curtain, not a liner, because I: 1) needed a translucent curtain (no light over the tub); 2) found that the previous clear plastic curtain was hard to clean and always showed water spots; 3) liked the simple design, unobtrusive in my one small bathroom; 4) was impressed by the (then) overwhelmingly positive reviews; 5) paid $11 with free shipping on Amazon, so it was worth a try.

The curtain is 6 ft. long and reaches about halfway down the tub. There are no leaded beads in the bottom hem, but it doesn't fly around or let water through.

It hasn't been machine-washed, but I rinse it off with a hand-held shower spray after use. Because the curtain dries so quickly, I can leave it outside the tub soon after.

No mold or mildew, though the bathroom is poorly ventilated. I do keep the bathroom door partly open after showers.

Perhaps the quality has gone downhill or there are major manufacturing differences among the batches. Or perhaps it just works better as a stand-alone curtain!

Customer Review: Croscill shower liner
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great product, well made. With the scare of using plastic shower curtain liners, I rest easier now. And no horrible plastic smell to haunt you every time!
