Tools and Hardware Reviews of Culligan US-EZ-4 EZ-Change Level-4 Under-Sink Drinking Water System

Customer Review: Water Filter Review
Summary: 5 Stars

This system replaced a PUR water filter we had previously installed under-sink. The Culligan system is great, perfectly replaced the other system and seems to work better at a more economical price.

Customer Review: Water doesn't taste great...
Summary: 3 Stars

I ordered this filter to replace a reverse osmosis water filter. The reverse osmosis filter produced delicious water but was very expensive to operate and did not produce as much water as we needed. I bought this particular filter after doing a lot of research on the web as to effectiveness of removing chemicals and particulates from tap water. I am assuming that the studies I read accurately reflect the efficacy of this filter, but the water it produces just doesn't taste great. To produce good tasting water we are running the water from the Culligan thru a Brita. On the positive side, we have no issues with the faucet that we received as some reviewers have. It's not the BEST I've ever seen, so maybe if you had kids that were harder on the faucet, it would break. But so far, it has functioned perfectly well for my husband and me.

Customer Review: Water tastes great - fitting is a let down
Summary: 3 Stars

Dont get me wrong - this is a nice neat system that fits easily under the sink and the water tastes great (I did a blind taste test with the family and they all agreed it was better that the chloride tasting water from the tap. I installed it myself but the plastic connector fitting they provide is 1/2" only - so, unless you are a core DIY/plumbing person, you will not able to install this if you have 3/8" tap connectors (as in many US homes). I had to spend a lot of time finding the right converter fittings to enable me to hook it up. It's crazy that Culligan, for the cost of an extra plastic fitting, dont include a 3/8" connector also.
Agree that the faucet that comes with it is a bit plasticy but dont think it can be called a "heap of junk". I would have given this a 4 star rating if it wasnt for the hassle with installation.

Customer Review: Water tastes great again.
Summary: 5 Stars

Another great product that does what it's supposed to do. Water tastes great again. Fairly easy to install.

Customer Review: Worked well, UNTIL the leaks started
Summary: 1 Stars

This seems like a pretty good deal at first.

It was pretty easy to install and the water quality is good. But after 18 months, the socket that the filter installs into began a steady drip, drip, drip under the sink. I'm pretty sure it's not the O-rings, because installing a new filter (with new o rings) didn't help at all.

Unfortunately, there is no support from Culligan - if I don't want to sacrifice the extra 2 filters I bought, I need to buy this unit over again (no parts available).

No, thanks. I'm looking for another company that actually stands behind their product.
