Tools and Hardware Reviews of Culligan WHR-140 Replacement Shower Filter Cartridge for WSH-C125, HSH-C135, ISH-100 Shower UnitsCustomer Review: Good product Summary: 4 Stars
I originally got this because I heard it helps filter out chlorine which can fade haircolor. I think the filter does help. This is the first time I had to replace the filter and I think the price of this product was good and it was easy to replace.
Customer Review: Good replacement for Gaiam shower head filter Summary: 5 Stars
I have the Gaiam sunflower shower head, and the replacement filters cost a fair penny. These are exactly the same thing, at half the price. Excellent buy!
Customer Review: Good, but spending the money on a whole-house softener is probably better... Summary: 3 Stars
I bought the Culligan faucet kit a few weeks ago. Our house has always had REALLY hard water, and in lieu of buying a softener to hook up in the garage, I decided to check this out first. I'll give it that the filtration is having an effect - my arms and face aren't as dry as they used to be, and and some of the problems I had (like a rash on the back of my neck) have faded a bit. There is a strong carbon smell to the water (similar to what you'd smell while replacing an aquarium filter), but it's tolerable.
Somehow, I was hoping for more. I still have to put on a lot of lotion (hands and arms) and aloe vera gel (on my face and head) after showering, and my legs and feet are still dry. I'm probably going to go ahead and get a whole house softener, as it will affect all the taps, and salt is cheaper to buy than these replacement filters.
Customer Review: Great Addition to the Household!!! Summary: 4 Stars
Straight to the point:
Main reason I got this filter was for my baby amazon birds (parrots) as they shower with me. I notice a big difference in their feathers; they are more shiny and soft as there isn't any residue of chlorine when they dry.
I have also notice the difference in my skin. My shoulders, arms (elbows mainly) and hands used to get very dry, but not anymore. I do recommend this filter t anyone with similar situations as mine, or purposes.
Oh, by the way....it is very easy to install.
Cheers,
Customer Review: Great Shower Filter Summary: 5 Stars
This filter is heads over shoulders that the filter that Home Depot sells, Lowes doesn't sell any. This is also sold by Bed Bath and Beyond, but costs $14, about $2 more than at Amazon. The companion product Culligan WSH-C125 shower head is also a great buy which has this filter inside.
