Tools and Hardware Reviews of Cyclops CYC-HC5-W Orion 5-LED Hat Clip Light, White BulbCustomer Review: Cyclops Hat Clip Review Summary: 5 Stars
This item was exactly as described and actually is better than I expected. The amount of light it gives off is incredible. I am a letter carrier and I expect to use it this winter during our late delivery days when we go back to standard time and will be working in the dark.
Customer Review: Good light but.... Summary: 3 Stars
I used this light a couple of times now and it's got good lighting. But the on/off button stopped working so now I have to remove the batteries to shut it off and replace them to turn it back on. Not a bad light but cheaply made.
Customer Review: Great idea, but breaks like less expensive models Summary: 3 Stars
Bought this more expensive cap light after reading about how the less expensive models broke so often. I've had this one for about 2 weeks, took it on/off my cap 5 times, the clip broke. This is a great idea product, but it would be less expensive in the long run to buy multiple replacements of the less expensive model since both seem to have flimsy clips.
Customer Review: Great item Summary: 4 Stars
This is an excellent light for the money. I like how you clip it over the brim and not under the brim of your hat where it could potentially obstruct your sight.
It is sometimes a little difficult to push the switch and turn it on but very manageable.
A few upgrades I would have liked to have are:
1. Adjustable angle
2. Different light intensity settings
3. A red light to use at night so night vision isn't affected.
Overall, great product for the price. I recommend highly.
Customer Review: Handy Summary: 2 Stars
I'm an aircraft mechanic, and these devices are useful, especially when I'm working at night. My only real concern is the durability of the plastic clips that are used to attach it to the bill of your cap. I would prefer them to be metal, but I suppose that would make it cost more. If I ever find one like this that has metal clips, I'll buy several.
Update to the above: Sure enough, the plastic clips are the "Achilles heel" of this product. One of them broke after only a month of normal use. It will still stay on my cap with only one clip, but I feel it's only a matter of time before that one breaks, too. For this reason, I have reduced my rating to 2 stars.
