Tools and Hardware Reviews of DELTA 34-183 Tenoning JigCustomer Review: Nice adder! Summary: 5 Stars
I shopped for a good tenoning jig for my Delta contractors saw, looking at several different brands from a host of other manufacturers/suppliers. I settled on the Delta unit because of the quality of the unit, the excellent repeatability, and ease of set-up. Good job, Delta!
Customer Review: Not for use with Bosch 4000 bench saws Summary: 1 Stars
I'm sure that this is a fine jig with great accuracy. However I will never know. The verticle fence will not adjust close enough to the blade on my Bosch to cut a 1/4 inch tenon in 3/4 inch stock. Now I am out shipping expences as I shipped it 2nd day air only to find out it will not work with my saw. DELTA NEEDS TO MAKE PEOPLE AWARE OF WHAT SAWS THIS JIG IS AND IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH.
Customer Review: Out of the Box Summary: 4 Stars
(...) I was concerned that the tenon jig slide bar would not fit into the miter slot. I called Delta Customer Service and they said it should fit. So I ordered the tenon jig.The package arrived promptly a few days later, like normal for Amazon. I unpacked the jig and found it to be well soaked with oil. Delta needs to find a better way to prevent rust. It took a good 30 minutes to wipe the oil from the jig. I then attempted to fit the jig into the miter slot on my Sears saw. Much to my surprise the guide bar was to wide to fit into the miter slot. This made it necessary to disassemble the jig so that the guide bar could be remove. Once removed I was able to grind the bar to remove enough material so as to fit the miter slot. It took 2 hours to make this modification and reassemble the unit. Two and one half hours later, the unit is now sliding nicely in the miter slot of the Sears saw. It took another 15 minutes to adjust the unit for "square". At last ready to make the first cut. Works like a charm. The adjustment knobs allow for fine adjustments. But, be ready to do some work before making that first cut.....not ready to go OUT of the BOX.
Customer Review: Overpriced !!!! Summary: 4 Stars
I Know its a very well made tool ,but it is... overpriced.
Customer Review: Perfect for Delta Table Saws Summary: 5 Stars
I borrowed this jig from a friend about a week ago. I just ordered one this afternoon. Delta must have made this jig for my table saw (Delta contractors saw). It fits my saw like a glove. When my friend got it, he came over to the sign shop I work at and showed me how they packed it in oil. He said "I'll never get this all off." I laughed and said that we'd have it off in less than a minute. I poured some xylol in a metal pale and put the jig down in it for about a minute, then pulled it back out and told him to wipe it off... Clean as a whistle. There's nothing wrong with this jig. it makes perfect tenons. It's easy to use. The oil comes right off if you use the right solvent. And if you own a Delta table saw, it works great. I've been buying Delta products for five years, and they have'nt let me down yet, and I'm hard to please. I've used this jig, and I'm telling you, if you want perfect tenons, and you're tired of other mickey mouse jigs, then buy this jig. Believe me, you'll be glad you did. Of course it helps if you know how to measure.
