I got this for my stepfather who has been using an electric sharpener on his crappy knives. I told him that if i gave him a real knife for his birthday i will also give jim a real sharpener. He agreed.

This one really does it's job well, after a short learning curve, you really see the difference in how fast it sharpers as well as how hard it is screw up a blade (compare to electic sharpener). All you need in a bit of practice to sharper at a certain angle and 5-10 minutes of dedication per side.
