Customer Review: Effective tub drain strainer with some design flaws

Sometimes a product can be too good. The mesh on the Danco tub strainer is so fine that it quickly clogs. In one sense that is great -- it is doing its job properly. But if the mesh were just a tad bitter less fine, we might be able to clean it out once a day instead of after each person taking a shower in the bathtub. We have a standard drain enclosure -- the kind that screws down with fairly large holes. The Danco strainer sits under the enclosure, which is why it is effective, but that also means we cannot screw down the regular enclosure.Customer Review: Fits bath tub drain and works well

We didn't have a tub drain protector & were frequently having to use products to unclog the tub. We got it clear & then used this strainer & it's quite amazing how much soap scum & hair it actually collects. Easy to clean, great deal, no problems with clogs since we got it. What's great about this thing is that you forget it's there until the water stops draining as fast. You pop this thing out, scoop out the hair, and plop it back in the drain. It catches nearly everything but it's nearly invisible too. Three cheers for Danco!
