Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dap 18324 Seal 'N Peel Removable Caulk, 10.1-Ounce

Customer Review: Dap Peel n Seal
Summary: 5 Stars

This stuff works great. I live in an older home with bad windows and the Seal n Peel closes all those spaces where air can get in to drive my heating costs up. Seal n Peel works great at stopping those air leaks and when Spring comes you just peel it back off. It doesn't hurt the wood so you have nothing to worry about. Thank you Dap for making such a great product.

Customer Review: Definately worth the small inventment
Summary: 5 Stars

Although the smell is not wonderful, it's not as bad as these reviews have made it out to be! This caulking goes on easy, cleans up easy and is a perfect temporary house sealer. I've used it on all windows and the attic hatch and am quite impressed

Customer Review: Does what it is suppose to
Summary: 5 Stars

As previous reviewers have stated, this stuff smell horrible! That being said I did not purchase it for its fragrance, I purchased it to seal my windows which it did perfectly. I would suggest sealing you windows then taking your family out of a nice dinner, by the time you get home the smell should have disappeared. I would definitely purchase this product again.

Customer Review: Does what it says!
Summary: 4 Stars

Works very well for sealing drafts (certainly better than rope caulk, and much less messy). However, it gives off a lot of organic vapors so make sure to use this in a WELL ventilated room with proper respirator and eye protection in order to be safe.

Peels away very well when not needed. Save money on those drafty windows!

Customer Review: Effective but alas the fumes
Summary: 3 Stars

As many of the other reviewers had said the fumes are killer. The caulk is extremely effective, but it takes a good week or two for the fumes to disapate. I was a little concerned about my poor cats being subjected to the fumes 24/7. Once the fumes fade, it's fine. Removal of the calk in the spring if fairly easy and mess free. We have really terrible windows, so some of the loose paint did come off with the calk, but I was expecting that to happen. All in all, I will probably use again next winter, but I won't do all the windows at once. I highly suggest leaving one or two windows unsealed while the others are curing so that you can have access to fresh air.
