Tools and Hardware Reviews of Delta Faucet 75152 Water Amplifying Adjustable Showerhead with H2OKINETIC Technology, ChromeCustomer Review: A Great Faucet Summary: 5 Stars
I'm always interested in "green" products that work well and are affordable. This faucet meets both criteria.
I received a free low-flow showerhead at a farmers market a few months ago and it worked okay, but it lacked the power of my old showerhead. Because of this I decided to research low-flow showerheads on Amazon and this Delta faucet had the best reviews and a great price so I purchased 3 - one for each of the shower/tubs in our home.
PROS
- They were easy to install. Just wrapped the threads with a bit of teflon tape and hand-tightened the showerhead. No leaks or any other problems.
- Not noisy. Some of the other posters mentioned that the showerhead was uncomfortably loud. We have high water pressure in our home and I haven't noticed any extra loudness from this showerhead and no one has complained. They sound like a shower - nothing more, nothing less.
- Plenty of water pressure. Taking a nice invigorating shower is one of my few vices and I like a nice powerful stream of water and the Delta didn't disappoint. It has plenty of power on the 2.6 gallon setting, but I didn't like the lower setting. My wife, on the other hand, thought the 2.6 gallon setting was a bit "needly" and she prefers the lower setting or to lower the water volume using the shower controls.
- Plenty of coverage. Some people have said it has too much coverage and sprays all over the place and I might agree but it's just fine in our glass-enclosed shower. It rinses soap just fine and doesn't cool off too much before it hits you.
CONS
- None that I've found yet. I could have multiple massage options or something like that, but it's very good as-is.
Highly recommended.
Customer Review: A fine alternative to the "rain shower" low flow heads Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased two different <2 gpm showerheads in the last month in a quest to save a little money by cutting down my family's hot water usage. Speaking just to this one, the Delta, the first thing I did was cut the top off a 1-gallon water jug and used a stop watch to confirm the flow. It took about 35 seconds to fill up the jug on the low flow setting which works out to about 1.7gpm - real close to the published rating. On high flow, it took around 21 seconds, which calculates to 2.85gpm.
IMHO the low flow setting is sufficient for me, including rinsing the shampoo out of my hair. I have replaced a 4.0 and 3.0 gpm showerhead in my home now and I would say the quality of shower experience is about the same with the latest generation of "amplifying" showerheads as I felt I got from the old high flow heads. My only complaint is that the cheap showerheads never include teflon tape, you have to use your own (if you have it) or buy a roll for a couple bucks at the hardware store to ensure a leak-free connection.
Customer Review: A nice strong shower while saving water... Summary: 3 Stars
This is a nice replacement for the old and calcium-clogged shower head that came with my apartment. Overall a great product even if it's a bit noisy at "full speed", very easy to adjust without any force. It's not utterly expensive so I do recommend it. Just keep in mind that your morning shower will get a bit noisier.
Customer Review: A showerhead that works as advertised Summary: 5 Stars
Wanted a shower head with a strong spray but with low flow. The Delta amplifying showerhead worked great. The spray is as strong as my previuos high-flow showerhead. The two position adjustment also worked well and was easy to reach and adjust.
Customer Review: AAAHHHHHHHHH Summary: 5 Stars
I have been putting up with relatively low water pressure for several years in my upstairs showers. I tried different shower heads but was always disappointed with the results. Next I investigated different solutions and found them to be way too much to invest for a "Hotel" shower experience.
Then I stumbled on this Delta water amplifying shower head and have found it to be well worth it. Initially I purchased only one to test it out, but after a couple of weeks decided to get another one for the other bathroom.
My children, with long hair and longer showers love the way this works! The pressure is not too hard, but a significant improvement!! Have not had them long enough to vouch for the reduction in the amount of water used, but will trust that the manufacturer knows what they are claiming.
Even if they were wrong and my water usage stays the same or goes up a little, it is well worth the risk.
