Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dewalt DPG59-120C Reinforcer Rx-Bifocal 2.0 Clear Lens High Performance Protective Safety Glasses with Rubber Temples and Protective Eyeglass SleeveCustomer Review: Good prouct Summary: 4 Stars
A little pricey, but I also bought a pair of $10 safety readers from the local box store that were practically unusable. Better to pay the price for these Dewalts.
Customer Review: Great BiFocal Safety Glasses Summary: 5 Stars
I'm 46 and wear reading glasses. It's gotten to the point I have to put on my reading glasses to see the tape measure, see to cut the line with a saw, etc - until now. These things are awesome! They have built in bifocals. Look down through the bifocal, you can see up close. Look up or straight ahead and you see through the regular safety glass. The bifocal part of the glasses is slightly oversized - for example, big enough so you can see the saw blade and the line you're cutting, not say just one tiny spot. The quality of the lenses seems good too. Objects are clear and sharp. They are stylish enough for a variety of uses and inexpensive enough to be disposable or easily replaceable - light and comfortable too. They even come with a protective sleeve to protect the lenses. Just remember... this is a review for $13.00 safety glasses, not $300.00 prescription glasses. Whoever came up with this idea is a genius. I just ordered a second pair with the smoked lenses for working outside (or reading a book on the beach, or sunglasses that let me see to tie a fly when fly fishing, you get the idea). Highly recommended!
Customer Review: Great Glasses Summary: 5 Stars
Purchased the clear ones based on my experience with the smoked version. For those of us that need a corrected safety glass, these are a great product at a good price. The bifocal is low so it doesn't interfere with normal vision lines. They are comfortable for all day usage.
As for the protection sleeve, it took me awhile (actually the wife did it) to figure out that only the lenses fit in the sleeve (the bows hang out). It seems a reasonable solution but in reality the bows tend to get caught on things when the sleeved glasses are clipped to a tool belt.
Customer Review: Great work lens Summary: 5 Stars
Inherent to these types of lenses, they scratch. This pair, so far, is holding up well. I put a holder on it and use it for a multitude of tasks where there is some danger of something getting in my eyes... like building a brick patio, moving stuff around in the garage, and, of course, cutting wood.
Nice tool.
