Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dewalt DPG59-220C Reinforcer Rx-Bifocal 2.0 Smoke Lens High Performance Protective Safety Glasses with Rubber Temples and Protective Eyeglass SleeveCustomer Review: Great Idea, poor execution Summary: 2 Stars
These glasses are a great idea; bifocals allow reading in the sun or viewing dash instruments while driving. But frames are quite large and do not stay on your head like Oakley's or other quality sunglasses.
Customer Review: Great Safety Glasses!! Summary: 5 Stars
Try buying vision correcting safety glasses? They are few and far between at an affordable price. Had (lost them in the ocean) a pair of these and they were great. Just bought three more.
The optics are better than most and the bifocal part is large but out of the straight ahead viewing area (for me, anyway). I have found them far superior to others that I've purchased in the under $50 price range. And I can wear them all day without any eye strain.
Never had any trouble with the nose piece falling off or the lens popping out as some have reported. But then they are massed produced, and for $13/pair they are close to disposable. If you get a year out of them you've gotten your money's worth.
Customer Review: Great idea for doing "close work" in the summer Summary: 4 Stars
I kept these on all day when I did my spring yard work. I looked out the upper lens for lawnmowing etc. When I had to look at the dial on the sprinkler system and read the instructions, I looked out the lower portion. I agree with other users that the magnified (lower) portion is just a bit bigger than it needs to be, but the benefit of protecting your eyes outweights that minior inconvenience. I'll adjust to it. I never thought it was a good idea to read from standard reading glasses in strong sunlight.
Customer Review: Great idea poor execution Summary: 2 Stars
The basic idea of adding the bifocal lens to the glases is good and useful. However, in these glasses, the bifocal lens takes up way too much vertical field of view, so you are constantly looking through the bifocals when you don't want to, producing a slight blur to your vision. Consequently you find yourself making little 'adjustments' frequently - shifting your view up or down. After a while this is a pain in the neck.
Customer Review: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
Bought these to take on a cruise which had several at sea days. They were excellent for reading while relaxing in the sun.
