I'm so glad I got this. I've noticed loads of benefits since taking it:
* I can eat sugar again without problems
* I don't have as many food sensitivities--basically all food works better with me than it did before. Eating food with it is especially nice. I feel more nourished from the food.
* I can eat raw food without problems (it even feels healthier than cooked food, now)
* I don't get depressed while I take it (provided I drink enough water; if I don't, it still comes)
* I don't feel like I have pinworms crawling around anymore (although that didn't leave instantly).
* It increases my immune system and fingernail health.
* It keeps my cupboard dry (so stuff in there doesn't mold or smell musty)
* It helps me to feel more alert and mentally active.
* I have control over my thoughts at night while I'm trying to sleep (if I take some before bed). They don't go everywhere, exploring all my concerns, passions, etc. keeping me up all night. The only other supplement I've found that has done anything for this was caprylic acid (although it only helped for a few weeks and then kind of stopped; diatomaceous earth seems consistent, however)
* I have more energy.
* I feel and smell cleaner.
* Smells don't bother me as much.
I have noticed a few side-effects, however:
* It makes me urinate a lot more often.
* It makes me need to drink a lot more water.
* I have to be careful to drink it with a straw so that it doesn't chelate my silver amalgam fillings, which are 50% mercury.
I have not noticed some things that happen with others:
* It didn't get rid of my constipation.
* It does not seem to help my short-term memory. It might even make it worse. This might be because it's chelating so many metals from my body (same goes for the constipation). I have a feeling I'm pretty well toxified with metals (mercury, aluminum and tin, especially, but maybe others, like copper, too).
* I haven't seen any worms in my stools (although if I do have worms, they do seem to be considerably weakened while I take it). Well, I might have seen a couple tapeworm segments, but I'm not really sure if that's what they were (they looked like overcooked rice that was coming apart).
* I haven't noticed much of a difference (if any) in my hair growth.
* The improvements in my fingernails haven't been as considerable as most people report (but I seem to have some kind of problem with them that might be the reason).
Anyway, I take it at night and in the morning.
One fascinating thing I've noticed is that if I mix it with water and malic acid (pure malic acid from nutsonline.com) then it seems to affect me differently. It doesn't make me need to urinate as much and it doesn't seem to make me as thirsty. It has a darker feel to it and it doesn't help my thoughts as much, but everything else seems to be good about it. It seems a lot better on my short-term memory. It's better on my fingernails, and maybe my immune system. Anyway, it has different benefits (some of which are quite good and longer-lasting), but it doesn't retain all the benefits of taking it by itself. So, I like to take it both ways at different times. Just be careful as the combination instantly curdles thicker saliva into a whitish, cheese-like substance that can readily be removed. It might surprise you if you're not expecting it. I'm not sure what that means or if it's good or bad. (Maybe it's chelating something?) It's similar to what drinking warm potent lemon juice and water without sugar might do, only like 10 times as much.
I haven't tried this out as an insecticide.
This diatomaceous earth works pretty well, I think. I haven't tried any other kinds. I have a feeling this is the Permaguard kind in another bag (which is good, since that's supposed to be the best kind to take internally). This kind is from a freshwater source and has I think less than 1% crystalline silica. It's definitely food grade.
