You simply can't go wrong for the current advertised price. I purchased this model several years ago and it is still as good as new. I am still impressed with the heat generated from a small unit and the resemblance of a flame is brilliant. This unit does not get hot to the touch but blows hot air at the bottom that travels across a room at a respectable rate. Unfortunately I do not know what this unit really costs to run; however, I never noticed any large spikes in my electric bills when my usage increased do to colder climates. Recently a friend mentioned to me he was looking for a space heater and my Dimplex electralog immediately flashed into my thoughts. Now here I am trying to think which room in my home can use another one :) This unit is light and durable. I am very happy with its dimensions b/c I prefer a unit that is not bulky. If you are looking for an affordable and pleasant looking heat source for the cold chilly nights of winter I highly suggest you put this on your list.
