Customer Review: Beautiful but legs are too short

I purchased this because our heating system doesn't heat our living/dining area adequately. I wanted something that looked attractive; not like a space heater. I wavered between this one and the less expensive model but went with this one. It arrived via Amazon Prime and was completely assembled.
I have wall to wall carpet in my apartment so I got four ceramic tiles and put the heater on top of them so it would not burn the carpet. The first evening, I put it on and turned up the thermostat to see how long it would take to heat the room. After about 30 minutes, the unit shut itself off.
I checked it out and found that the surge protector that this heater was plugged into had tripped and shut off. This heater was the only thing plugged into it so I wasn't sure what was up. The direction booklet said that if it overheated, it would turn itself off and you should wait five minutes before turning it back on.
I wondered what would cause it to turn off. After all, if the thermostat dial is present one would think that you could turn it all the way up without fear that the unit will overheat.
After looking at the bottom, I noticed that the vent that the hot air comes out is pretty close to the floor. Tile or not, it seems too low to me. I ordered some 3 inch risers from Amazon and will put them on and see if I get better performance.
The unit is beautiful and I would have given it five stars if the legs were longer to provide more space between the heat and the floor. I'm hoping that is why it turned off.

This is the most charming little stove...I love it. I live in a rather small apartment with one gas wall heater. Since I bought my Dimplex Electric Stove, I have not used my wall heater. The stove is sturdy, not too heavy to lift so I can have it in any room, and it keeps a room nice and warm...you just can't beat the ambiance it provides. I do not have a video to post, but if you do a search on youtube for Dimplex CS3311, there is a video that someone posted. It was this particular video that sold me on the stove. BTW, I also purchased the cedar scented incense through Amazon, which is a wonderful compliment to the stove.Customer Review: Better than expected!

I read the reviews prior to purchasing this unit and was truely excited to try it out for myself. I put it into our den where we watch the most TV and not only does it look realistic, but it heated up the entire room and we had to turn it down. The technology of the flame makes it look as real as can be expected. I've seen other units that look like the flame is on a mirror behind. This one looks like it is all around the logs. The heat comes from below, so the unit stays cool to the touch.
The price paid is well worth the value you receive. I am going to buy a second unit!

My husband bought us the Amish electric fireplace, my opinion of that is that it is loud, flames aren't realistic, and it has only two heat settings. The mantel is cheesy. This little heater we bought for one of our renters. I am jealous. It looks better, has better heat control, and the flames look very realistic. To top it all off...it was half the price.
