Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dimplex CS3311 Compact Electric StoveCustomer Review: Cute Little Electric Stove Heater Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for a small bedroom. It gives off a nice amount of heat. Works great adding a little extra heat to the room. The electric heater is very well built. It isn't too heavy, so it is easy to move around. The top stays cool so you can put a plant, or book on top of it. I really love the logs and the flame, they look so real! Also love that it comes with a remote.
It is a great heater for a small space, and well worth the price. I am very happy with it. Best part is that there is no assembly. Just take it out of the box, and plug it in.
Customer Review: Cute little space heater Summary: 4 Stars
Although it arrived with a dent in it, it sure is a cute little thing. It might have gotten a functional review if it was winter time, but since we just got through a week long 90+ degree heat spell in New Hampshire, it will be kind of tough to do that. But it sure is cute. And little. Fits any where. Sure hope it puts out heat next winter.
Customer Review: Cute, but not the right thing for me. Summary: 3 Stars
Unfortunately, I think I'm going to send my Dimplex CS3311 Compact Electric Stove back, because it just really isn't the right thing for my space. I have two story house, with the downstairs a semi-open floor plan and hardwood floors. The house was built in 1925 and remodeled at least twice, but I don't really know what the insulation situation is. It seems to be pretty good. Anyhow, the heater is not really powerful enough to heat the living room. I didn't expect it to heat the living room, dining room and kitchen all together, but I thought it would at least make it cozy to lie on the couch and read or something. However, I can only feel the heat output when I sit right in front of it. I think it's just too big a space, because other reviewers have said that it heats smaller rooms nicely. I've had it on for about 5 hours, and the thermostat on the wall says it's 56 degrees in here, only 4 degrees warmer than it was when I got the heater and turned it on. Yes, it was 52 degrees in my house. And I have a cold. So I've decided that I value function over form and will send it back. Also, it's a little loud. It's not enough to notice if you have the TV or radio on, but when the house is silent you can definitely hear it. It's a sound I've heard a lot of older electric heaters make, sort of a vibration of the heating coil against something else metal.
I was a little disappointed to see that the "thermostat" is more like just a temperature control dial, not something where you actually set your desired temperature. Also, the photographs shown on amazon are kind of mooshed so that it looks like it's a bit wider than it is tall. Actually, it's taller than it is wide. The dimensions given are accurate, but the width is measured across the very top where it has that little shelf that kind of sticks out an inch on each side, so the body is actually 18" across.
Despite all that, the thing does look super cute and toasty. My house was built in the era when everyone had coal burning fireplaces, so the 2 fireplaces in here are shallow and not fit to burn anything because I'm pretty sure the chimney is in a nonfunctional condition. I inserted the heater into my fireplace and love the look of glowing embers and flames in the hearth, but I'm not wealthy enough to spend $150 on looks alone. Oh, it's so nice I don't want to send it back, but I think I have to.
So, moral of the story: Not powerful enough for a larger room, Kind of makes noise, not a true thermostat.
Customer Review: Cutest Space Heater Ever Summary: 5 Stars
First off, FAST delivery! Ordered on a Friday - delivered Monday. I bought this to warm up a lower level, good-sized den with three large windows in an older drafty house. I love it! I unboxed it, plugged it in and it really is as cozy as it looks! It warms up the large area nicely in a fairly short amount of time and adds a real ambiance to the room. I plan to get a second one to warm up my drafty kitchen and save some money on my gas bill. I can't speak to the cost but I won't be running it 24-7 and unlike my outrageous winter gas bills, I am on a budget plan for my electric. Bottom line, I would recommend this to anyone who has a room that they wish they had a fireplace in. Even if the heat isn't on, it just looks awesome!
Customer Review: DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS Summary: 5 Stars
