Somewhere between design and mass production someone forgot that sculpture is equal parts art and engineering.
I received this as a gift from my grandmother and was initially thrilled. I love faeries in general, and this rendition of Tink is completely adorable. Very reminiscent of a wood-carver I liked back home. Beautiful design.
Very shortly though, I was frustrated and disappointed with the figurine. It's very top-heavy and awkward. The problem could be easily resolved if the manufacture used that ample-sized base to weigh it down instead of making it out of the same sort of light weight resin the rest of the sculpture is made of.
I've repaired this gift six times now. I recommend strongly against gifting this to anyone with children, or pets, or anyone who's likely to sigh in it's general direction. The little puff of air will send Tinkerbell crashing to the floor, I assure you.
