Tools and Hardware Reviews of Divatex Home Fashions Royal Opulence Satin Queen Sheet Set, BlackCustomer Review: Too Slick Summary: 2 Stars
The look of the sheets are nice, but the "fitted" sheet doesnt stay on. I have a big mattress and it just doesnt stay on. The feel is really nice, but the blankets just fall right off as well. I wouldnt recommend this product because of those 2 points.
Customer Review: UBER cheap Summary: 1 Stars
I might as well have gone to the dollar store or bought some discount fabric to make a small child's costume. But these were sort of a gag gift so I'm not upset. They do the job of covering whatever you are sleeping on. I woke up stiff; I kept waking up because the blanket and pillow kept sliding away. (So I might not even enjoy good quality, or excellent quality satin either.) But this by no means is satin or silk, friend. If you want a shiny black bedset in a pinch - get these. Just a peek at the stitching and wrong side of the fabric-you'll know it's far from top dollar. My fiancee didn't notice or care (but I grew up knowing what "threadcount" meant).
Customer Review: Very Impressed Summary: 4 Stars
I ordered the black set of queen sized sheets. I was worried about what some people said about staining, but I had no problem with that. Of course, that could be because I washed them twice before putting them on my bed.
The first time I washed the sheets, I washed them on delicate and air fluffed them in the dryer (which took several hours). When the sheets were dry, they smelled a little rubbery (which is how they smelled when I first took them out of the package) and they still had the original creases from their package in them. That made me wash the sheets again, and this time I set the dryer to delicate, which adds a little heat, rather than air fluffing them like the first time. The second time the sheets turned out perfect. The rubbery smell and the creases were gone, and they dried within 30 minutes.
Because I used heat when I dried the sheets, I was worried that they were going to shrink, but they did not. In fact, the deep pockets in the fitted sheet give plenty of extra room and might even be a little bit too big for my queen sized mattress, but that is not an issue for me. I would rather have a little extra sheet than not enough. So, I do recommend setting your dryer on delicate when you dry the sheets, but I would not go above that setting.
One thing that impressed me about these sheets were the fact that they were warm. I read a review that said the sheets kept that person warm while keeping their husband cool, and the same thing happened to me and my boyfriend. I was the warmest that I have ever been in my bed, and he was cooler than me for once. They were also very comfortable to sleep in.
The only thing that bothers me about the sheets is that the fitted sheet does not stay tucked underneath the mattress all night, and yes, the satin pillowcases slide down when they are on top of the satin sheets. But this is inevitable when it comes to satin. I have decided to use cotton pillowcases, which do not slide very much on the sheets, and I just tuck the fitted sheet back underneath the mattress when I wake up.
Overall, these sheets are great for their price. I was very impressed with them.
Customer Review: Very good! Summary: 5 Stars
Of course, you cannot compete quality with real silk bed sheets that usually costs several hundred dollars. These sheets are soft and cozy. Yet durable, unlike real silk. Perfect for everyday use. I enjoy the cooling effects when you just get into bed. Also, it is such an eye candy for the decor of the bedroom. I bought black and gold color. There is no return to the traditional bed sheet fabric. I am spoiled now. Will be buying more soon!!
Customer Review: Very slippery - unless you have dry feet Summary: 3 Stars
These sheets are very soft and comfortable, but most nights the blankets slip and slide from side to side and the top 2 corners pop off the mattress because they're so slippery. And if there's any hanky panky, the bed is a mess - corners always pop off and blankets always on the floor (am i allow to say that?).
If my feet are dry, it's very annoying cuz they "scratch" the sheets - annoying like fingernails on a chalk board. Upside - it forces me to lotion my feet every night.
Also, if my five year old gets in bed with me, it's easy to "slide" him over when he has snuggled me to the edge of the bed.
These are my first set of satin sheets, so I can't compare them to others, but they are interesting - and fun. One set is enough, though.
