I've never been able to sleep on a plane until I took this pillow on a 13-hr flight and was able to sleep for HOURS. The only disadvantage is that it can't be deflated, but if it works - who cares!Customer Review: Finally found it......

I had orginally purchased "the bone" back in 1998 @ an outlet store in Georgia when I was driving from New Orleans to Virginia Beach. I used it when driving long distances as well as over 20,000 miles of airplane travel in not so comfortable military air transportation :) The bone was especially helpful to me since I'm on the shorter side & the natural curvature of the head rests on airplanes are not ergonocically suited for me.
It has only taken me 10 yrs to find it again! I'm so excited! I have tried the horseshoe shaped neck pillow, the cervical collar type pillow both of which made me feel like I was being choked. The "Nap" brand neck roll w/ the beads was decent but NOTHING beats The Bone! Do not hesitate to buy one!

I bought this pillow for a friend of mine who needed it for her 94 year old mother, Hallie. Hallie went into the hospital and took her bone pillow which she used to support her head. The hospital staff changed the bed sheets and no one knew what happened to that pillow. Two days went by and no one still knew what happened to the pillow. My friend then drove around for almost one week looking for this pillow. She recieved many confused looks and a lot of "there is no such thing as a bone pillow". I ordered this and it was just what Hallie needed. With the new pillow her neck was now feeling much better. I got this based on the other reviewers claims of eliminating neck pain, etc... it's great for any occasion when sitting and looking forward are required, and a little string or a small bungee can keep it anchored in a useful place for a car ride, but it's just a bit too thick and firm for my neck when lying down... ends up putting pressure on my 6th or 7th vertebra... it might get better once it's a little more broken it. I would heartily recommend this pillow for anyone with neck discomfort on long car/plane trips, or anyone who just likes to sleep in the car.Customer Review: Good for the car.....that's about it.

I'm an average sized guy, maybe a bit on the shorter side. 5'5'' about 180.
I wanted this neck pillow for when i'm sitting in my recliner. Its simply too big of a neck pillow.
its equitable to a rolled up towel behind your neck....which is good for a minute or 2, but quickly gets uncomfortable.
I should've purchased a U shaped pillow instead....
Mistakes were made, and i regret this purchase.
