I purchased one of these for my home office after my experience with other products in the Dolce line. I now plan on buying a couple more. This item is great! High quality at an affordable price. Just pop it out of the box, and start stacking on your books. There's plenty of room for plenty of books. It has a very attractive finish, and your friends will never guess what you really paid for it! Especially nice alongside with other pieces in this line. I already own the dolce desk, filing cabinet and coffee table so naturally I couldn't wait to have the folding bookcase as well. No assembly required, music to my ears!! Ot of the box, stand it up, place it where you want it, done. Took 2 mins from box to books. It arrived in perfect condition. I see a lot of people mentioning the Dolce collection is more of a cherry color than a dark walnut and I *guess* I can sort of see that, but I like cherry better anyway, looks warmer and richer. But it is walnut colored, cherry is much more red. This bookcase is worth at least double the price I paid ($39.99) you won't be disappointed.Customer Review: DOLCE, DOLCE, 5 Stars
I love the look of this bookcase. I was so impressed with the color and style that I was in a rush to buy another one as well as more pieces from the store. For the price and good looks this is a great buy. When you are buying this book case, keep in mind that it is only about as high as your chest. Don't expect top quality though. Most likely you will receive a bookcase that has one of the following: small chips on the wood, with warped areas or other minor blemishes on the wood.Like IKEA, this is meant to be temporary furniture - not a family heirloom.

I bought one of these bookcases at a Target store in Colorado in February. I have since moved to Idaho, where they do not carry this particular bookcase in the nearest Target store. I wanted a matching one since I planned to have them side by side in a room. So, I ordered the bookcase online.
The bookcase arrived and one of the shelves was actually splintered in such a way that the piece attaching it was broken off and could not be re-attached. I was annoyed, but went through the motions of returning it and having them send me another. (This is the most annoying part, isn't it? Who has the kind of time to box this thing back up and take it to the post office? Isn't that the point of online ordering?)
Well, today, the second bookcase arrived and not one, but two of the shelves are broken in exactly the same way as the last one. Needless to say, I'm returning this one for a refund, not an exchange.
I think these shelves were damaged before they ever left the Target shipping place. The first one looked as if someone else had received it and discovered it was damaged and returned it and then Target simply repackaged it and sent it right back out. I am absolutely sure this is the case with the second one, because the piece that has fallen off of one of the shelves is nowhere in the box.
I would not advise ordering this particular piece of furniture from Target and am rather wary of ordering anything else from them either!
