Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dolce 4-Shelf Folding Bookcase - Dark WalnutCustomer Review: Folding Bookcase Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great product for small spaces. I have two and they work well for displaying my art.
Customer Review: GORGEOUS! Summary: 5 Stars
This bookcase looks as if I bought it from another high end retailer, but instead I seem to have gotten the same quality for 1/3 of the price! Highly recommend.
Customer Review: GREAT bookcases! Don't stop at one!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I, like another reviewer, bought three of these at Target three and a half years ago, and decided I finally needed a fourth to hold my DVDs, because really, who wants to spend forty bucks on a DVD cabinet when you can get something much better that coordinates with your decor for ten bucks more???
As that same previous reviewer mentioned, I, too, moved after purchasing these bookcases, and it was SO much easier to just box up my books, fold these flat, and go! They're worth every penny you'll spend on them! And they'll look GREAT in your home!!!
Customer Review: GREAT bookshelves Summary: 5 Stars
Picture doesn't do this unit justice. It's solid wood and a BEAUTIFUL dark wood walnut finish. the fact that it easily folks up flat and is still rock solid stable when it's unfolded is really kind of a marvel of engineering. We liked the first one so much we ordered another for a matching set :) Not cheap crap, quality furniture and you can't beat that for the price.
Customer Review: Good and bad Summary: 3 Stars
It's a sturdy product, once everything is finally whacked into place, but the color doesn't match the CD tower I bought last year from the same Furio Dolce collection. Read on for the gory details. I bought the folding bookcase from a local Target store. When I opened the box at home, I immediately noticed it was the wrong color. It was supposed to be dark walnut, but it was closer to a dark cherry. Definitely too much red. Normally, this might not be a problem, but I bought the dark walnut CD tower last year, and I expected the dark walnut folding bookcase to match perfectly, since it was from the same collection and carried the same brand name. I was wrong. It didn't match. I brought it back to Target and opened up another box at the store to check the color. Again, too much cherry in my walnut. An employee opened a third box he got from the inventory in back. Same story: wrong color. I then checked the floor model's color, to make sure I wasn't seeing things, but the floor model perfectly matched all the other dark walnut pieces in the collection. Target doesn't sell floor models. Arg! I went to a different Target location and opened another box. It, too, was more cherry than walnut. Again, the floor model matched the rest of the set perfectly. Out of curiosity I opened the CD tower box, expecting it to not match its floor model counterpart but the folding bookcase from the box. Wrong again. The CD tower from the box had the right color--the true dark walnut--and matched the floor model perfectly. After waiting a month or so, I found a folding bookcase that is slightly darker, but still too red. It doesn't match my CD tower--with the correct dark walnut color--but I hope I can keep the two pieces far enough apart and cover up the bookcase with enough things to keep me from noticing the difference. If I see a true dark walnut folding bookcase in the future, I'll buy it on the spot, return the dark cherry knock-off in the same box, and not feel a shred of guilt about it. If the Target customer service person asks, I'll simply tell them, "It was the wrong color." ;) Had the color been right the first time, or even the second time, I would have given this product four stars. But it simply didn't match the rest of the set.
