Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dorcy International 41-4299 220-Lumens Rechargeable LED Flashlight with AC and DC Charging AdaptorsCustomer Review: Amazing Summary: 5 Stars
You will not believe how powerful this thing is. I is like a spot light on a car, but is small and lite.
Customer Review: Awesome Flashlight Summary: 5 Stars
I just purchased the Dorcy 41-4299 and it is a excellent flashlight. The only problem is the Ni-Cad battery so purchased a spare battery at dorcydirect.com for only [...] . I also bought a holster for [...] both reasonable prices. It comes with both an A/C and car charger. It was delivered from Amazon in only two days via regular shipping.
As for the output, it is certainly as advertised. I have just begun collecting flashlights and this one is a keeper. I compared the Dorcy to my Fenix TK-11 R2 tactical flashlight which I purchased for [...]; twice the price. The R2 is a much smaller tactical flashlight (5" in length) and runs on two CR123A batteries (expensive), it is advertised to have 240 lumens of output and throws the beam over 200 meters. The R2 is a wonderful flashlight; compact and very bright. I tested both outside and the R2's beam reaches the advertised 200M but the beam is not extremely focused at that distance. It has a much wider coverage area than the Dorcy so the light seems to dissipate (more of a flood than a spot). In contrast, the Dorcy seemed to do much better at distance; the beam of light is very strong and focused at 200M, giving a very bright white, concentrated light. I'm assuming that this is due to the size of the reflector. I measured both; the Dorcy 41-4299 has a 2" reflector, the Fenix R2 a 1" reflector.
The look of the 41-4299 is very nice. It has a solid button switch on the side of the light. I don't really like the cover to the charging hole because it does not close tightly and can 'jiggle' but it isn't that big a deal. I also have the Dorcy 41-4269 160 lumen flashlight which I purchased for about[...]. For [...]more, get the 41-4299. It's a no brainer and you get a car charger. If you don't mind the size of the Dorcy 41-4299 (8 3/4" length) it is an excellent buy.
Customer Review: Awesome Flashlight Summary: 5 Stars
After reading numerous reviews, I was expecting a good quality & high-output flashlight at 220 Lumens. But as my daughter would write, "OMG".. this is by far the best available for price, light output, weight, power consumption and even AC/DC rechargeable to boot! Dorcy products simply are the best I've gotten to date. There very likely could be more ordered in our future!
Customer Review: Bad product, Summary: 1 Stars
Two weeks of daily use: battery life is only good for one hour of continous use (it gets quite hot). Flashlight is stored in dry place, corrosion is present inside. How did I find this, the bulb (LED) burned itself off the board. I am returning this junk at once. It is a great product only on paper, but built to be junk. Bought it at Sears for 54$.
Customer Review: Battery with memory Summary: 3 Stars
If I were rating this light on build quality as well as the quality and quantity of light I would give it five stars. However, the battery supplied is a NiCad which suffers from memory problems. The recommendation is to fully discharge the battery before recharging. Therefore having a fully charged light available for any emergency of use is prevented. I wish it were powered with a LiIon battery which does not suffer from memory problems and can be topped off any time necessary. Other than the battery it's excellent.
