Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dremel 1100-01 Stylus 7.2-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Rotary Tool with Docking Station

Customer Review: A Great Product!....
Summary: 5 Stars

There are so many uses for this great little tool! As an artist, this tool is great for shaping and sanding my clay sculpts.

Customer Review: A Tool for Humans
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been a modeler for 40 years and have bought just about every trendy tool known to man, but its hard to find anything that is more ergonomic or useful for the modeler than the new Dremel 1100-01 Stylus. It fits comfortably in your hand (left or right)and offers execptional control for delicate work. Variable speed adjustments are smooth and very linear, which allows a wide useful range. If there is a shortcoming it would have to be torque. In order to get sufficient torque for some drilling operations, the speed has to be higher than one would normally use. However, at the top end, there is plenty of torque for cutting or grinding tasks.

Overall, the tool is well worth the price. All of my older Dremel motors are gathering dust and will probably go on the block at the next swap meet. My new Stylus is what I reach for first.

Customer Review: Amazing. If you don't already love Li-Ion tools, you will after you try this!
Summary: 5 Stars

The Stylus was designed by a genius. Perfectly engineered, and amazingly useful. I'm actually reaching for my thesaurus for more adjectives because I can't think of enough good things to say about the Stylus. It has everything you could ever want in a rotary tool PLUS it's lightweight, ergonomic, cordless, & comes with a charging stand/bit holder! If I were an engineer, I imagine that this is what I'd measure all of my accomplishments to. Like, "Well, that's a pretty awesome design I came up with there. My boss loves it, my coworkers think I'm the coolest pencil-pusher this side of the Mississippi, and Popular Science wants to give me next month's cover.... BUT, it's no Dremel Stylus." And then I'd probably cry.

I can't think of a single way this design could be improved. Lets's see... Light-weight? Check. Long-lasting battery? Check. Ergonomic? Check. Aesthetically Pleasing? Check. One-Hand operation? Check. Easy bit-swapping? Check. Comes with enough bits to confuse average-Joe Nuclear Physicist? Check. Has case that doesn't take up entire work-bench? Check. Sounds like a Boeing 727? Check. Scares the cat out of the room? Check.

Seriously. It's that cool. The only gripe I'll even allow anyone is that it doesn't spin fast enough for... something. I can't imagine what, but I'm guessing there's something. I know there's a 35 year-old in his parent's basement somewhere who can dream up something that it doesn't spin fast enough for, so I'll leave that part open-ended.

Bottom-line: Until somebody comes up with a better battery than the Lithium-Ion (and it drops to reasonable price, and doesn't emit radiation that turns thumbs into big-toes), this is the best of the best. Believe it.

Customer Review: An Amazing Tool No One Should Be Without!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this dremel with my tax refund. I had wanted one for a while and have used them before, though it has been many years. My fiancee found it easy to use as well and he has no tool experience. I wish the battery lasted for two hours. I used it the first time to remove some sharp gouges out of the metal on a walker, strip the paint off of it so we could repaint it, and added holes in the metal for a basket. It did all of this with minimal fuss, though I do recommend getting an additional attachment kit. This is the most used tool in my tool box now.

Customer Review: Best Dremel Ever
Summary: 5 Stars

I borrowed this Dremel model from a friend to drill holes into glass for making hanging mobiles. I loved it so much that I had to buy my own. It's lightweight and has mutiple speeds which makes it nice to control.
