Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dremel 761-03 Cordless Pet Nail Grooming Rotary ToolCustomer Review: A bit disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
Does not work well on puppy nails or our senior dog. I understand it takes time and can only do a few seconds at a time, but it takes WAY too long for each nail. I would never be able to catch up... Wish it was able to shave away nails quicker. Item is loud too and not all the powerful...
Customer Review: A good tool for beginners Summary: 4 Stars
This is virtually the only way to clip our small, nervous dog's nails. At this point, we do it twice a week. My wife holds the dog and I grind one nail at a time for ten second, with the dremel set on 'high'. We find that when the dremel is set on low, the vibrations hurt the dog, but when it is on high it really vaporizes the nail. Next time I will get a regular dremel for sanding that has more power (and is not battery powered), but this is the best tool for beginners. This tool really soaks up battery power, but it is still cheaper than paying someone to do this for you.
Customer Review: A great tool for the price Summary: 5 Stars
I've used this twice, and really, for the price, it's a nifty little tool. I had originally looked at the peticure, but read reviews about the battery not lasting long, plus it costs twice as much. Thought I'd try this and it works great-especially if using rechargeable batteries. I know I didn't want a cord, and the batteries in a rechargeable unit will eventually wear out. This is great-if it runs down, you can pop in charged batteries and it keeps going.
I'm sure you can pay twice as much and get a better unit, but at least for me and my little chihuahua/terrier, this one does the job.
Customer Review: Absolutely Great!! Summary: 4 Stars
I highly recommend this tool!! I have an Akita and my dog is a big baby when it comes to cutting her nails. I bought this tool on the advice of a friend, who has 6 dogs. This Dremel tool is much quieter than a similar product that I tried. It does not scare her! I am very pleased with it!! It's really easy to use!
Customer Review: Absolutely no power Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this in spite of some reviews that indicated the battery ran out too soon. Overall it received a good rating. What a waste! I have 3 Shelties not Great Danes. After one session of trimming nails and storing it for a week, the batteries were dead. My husband thought I may not have turned it off properly (you know husbands), so I reloaded and did another session and HE checked to make sure I had turned it off. Next morning - sure enough - batteries had no juice. I would recommend you do what I am doing - purchasing a corded one. This one will cost a fortune in batteries...
