Tools and Hardware Reviews of Duck Brand 1299529 Indoor 5-Window Shrink Film Kit, 62-by-210-InchCustomer Review: Did not last Summary: 2 Stars
The product consists of a tape and plastic. The plastic was a little cumbersome to cut but managable. Once I got the insulation up, it seemed to be working fine. I put it on four separate windows - 3 of them consisting of Duck insulation, and one a 3M product. It is about two weeks from the time I put these up. Two of the Duck insulation tapes have already started peeling off. :(. It does definitely keep the house a little warmer though.
Customer Review: Does Not Work as Advertised Summary: 1 Stars
The plastic is too thin and the double sided tape does not hold. After a couple of weeks I had to go back and re-tape over half the edges with packing tape. I had to take it down from one window and just put up regular plastic sheeting and taped it up with packing tape. I would not recommend this to anyone. A waste of money.

It is unable to hold up drafts, is too noisy. The film started giving up the next day at the tape. The film kept flapping in the night. Might not be the fault of this specific brand, but just the concept in general.
Customer Review: Duck Indoor 5-Window Shrink Film Kit Summary: 4 Stars
Using the right amount of heat, it shrinks up real nice. When installed correctly, it works great. I have a window sill ledge I had to attach to because I used the 62" height for the entire window. Eventually the tape began to peel up from the stress of the "shrinked" wrap, but I kind of expected that to happen. Otherwise, the tape stuck securely, and I did not even use alcohol on the surface...because it is a stained surface which also is not recommended...but it's working. All and all, for not following the instructions and ignoring the recommendations, it is working very well.
Customer Review: Easy and cost effective Summary: 4 Stars
I bought the window kits last year to prevent drafts and lowered by heating bill instead of replacing all my windows. It was easy to put up and lasted all winter (I even left one on for a year because I rarely use that window). I would use an all surface cleaner to wipe the perimeter of the window instead of using the towelettes. You'll also need an extension cord for your hairdryer to completely seal tall window.
