Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dundas Jafine CHK100ZW Heat Keeper Kit With 2 Clamps

Customer Review: Good design very poorly manufactured
Summary: 2 Stars

This is a great idea that I have used before to good effect.

UNFORTUNATELY...

This PARTICULAR device - essentially an air valve - is so poorly manufactured that it requires repair BEFORE it can be used. The plastic shell is a two-piece, snap-together affair that doesn't snap together well at all, leaving the interior valve in a warped shell that does not allow the valve to seat properly in either position.

I am strongly considering sending this unit back, not for the few bucks (plus shipping) it cost me, but to make the point that there are limits to the junk Amazon.com can foist off on me.

Buy another brand.

Customer Review: Good green idea
Summary: 4 Stars

I had been trying to get the heat that was being pumped outside to stay inside during the winter. Now I have this easy to install device. Yeah!

Customer Review: Great Product Idea!
Summary: 5 Stars

I found out about this item from a friend of mine who used to rent houses out to people. My basement is not finished (yet), so i have no need to heat it. Only problem is that the cold air makes its way to the first floor of the house and makes the floor cold. So, this is the first winter we are using it. It does a great job of heating the basement and makes the first floor warmer than usual. Why heat your city when you can use that same heat to heat up your basement/house. Plus I love how you can take off the screen to clean it. Also, the lever to send the heat outside during the summer.

Customer Review: Great at reducing the heat bill
Summary: 4 Stars

Your paying for the heat anyway - so why not heat your house. For the price it does a great job - yes it is plastic, but what do you want for 8.50? The screen does not capture all the lint and causes some dusting. I fixed this by placing a cut to fit piece of cheese cloth on the outlet and covered with the screen. When you feel the air flow diminish when your running your dryer, simply remove and clean the lint off the piece of cheese cloth and put back on the vent outlet and screen over top. This is about every 6-8 loads of laundry. No big deal - just like removing lint from your dryer screen. I have not experienced any moisture issues that others have said. I've been using this for two years now.
Would definately recommend to friends.

Customer Review: Great product
Summary: 5 Stars

Put this in the vent line combined with a flip lever vent for venting into the house in winter. Works great, and filters about 90% of the lint missed by the dryer screen, which for us is a substantial amount. We were constantly fighting decreased efficiency over time with lint lining the PVC tubing we tried instead of the less efficient flexible hose. The screen on the flip vent catches the other 10% for a great system. Even when we go to outside venting again in Summer, this will substantially reduce the number of times I have to clean the venting system each year.

Easy to clean, durable screen. Make sure the dryer is "off" before cleaning, or you will get a face full of lint. Yeah, you're saying "duh" but if I hadn't told you, you'd have done it too eventually ;) Great product. Highly recommended.
